Even after exerting all the power she could muster, she was only able to dispell the dark tendrils and nothing more. Su Ping had put quit a lot of power in that sealing spell, but to think she'd been able to dispel it anyway.
" Why are doing this?!" He glared annoyingly at Melinda, this woman really was going to be the death of him.
While he did glare at her, the menacing pressure in the room vanished with a single thought, right after, Emilia who was completely horrified dropped to her knees, her undead body chilled to the bone, a look of absolute terror still etched upon her face.
She'd seen her master display his power several times already but being the only one facing such power, it was apparent that she just couldn't handle it on her own.
" We're you actually planning on killing her?!" Instead of shrinking away, Melinda instead stepped forward and stomped her way, till she was standing directly Infront of her husband, and while her form was far shorter, Su Ping couldn't help but feel a sudden heat from her, while not really present, seeing her this angry was quite a shock to him and the first time it had ever happened before.
" Have you lost your mind?! Just because of a simple argument you both had, you actually wanted to kill her?! Are you insane." As if expecting her outburst before hand, Su Ping had erected a barrier around the living room to seal off the noise from the rest of the world.
" You're nothing but a scum bag! What kind of man would dare raise a hand against a woman!"
" You fool! If I wasn't here, you would've actually harmed her?! Just how petty can you be–!" Melinda who was just about to say another word, suddenly paused, her features quickly turned pale before she dropped on her knees.
" What's wrong?!" Su Ping instantly appeared by her side. " Are you hurt?! Dear, this isn't the time to be joking around!"
Melinda said nothing, rather It was as if she couldn't say anything. Su Pings heart rate accelerated when he felt her strength dropping at an alarming rate.
" Melinda?" Emilia who was off to the side, slightly recovered from the earlier situation, spoke up. " Is something wrong with her, can i–"
" You stay right there!" Su Ping glared at her viscously, as if he was barely moments away from tearing her to pieces.
" Mel Mel..." Yet his voice softened when he glanced at the woman in his arms. Without hesitation, he activated his healing ability, boosting it with his wood elemental ability, in other to heal her, but sadly, that only slowed down the process, her strength was still being zapped away.
Su Pings expression turned serious, he carefully sent his magic throughout her body to sense what was going on, it was at that moment that he noticed something within her abdomen rapidly absorbing her energy, or to be precise, the dark energy stored within her body.
' The child?' a faint trace of coldness flashed past his eyes for a moment before being replaced by surprise.
Never did he expect their unborn child to be behind this, but after giving it some thought, he realised the problem right away, it seemed the child had gotten agitated due to her exerting a huge amount of her dark energy reserves.
Having come to this conclusion, he quickly began to inject his own dark energy into her in contained amounts, along with the wood elemental energy.
This time around, Su Pings heart calmed down when he realised that it was working, her strength was gradually recovering, at this rate it wouldn't be long before she was back to normal.
" I'm so sorry... It's all my fault, if I hadn't–"
" Listen... Could you please keep your mouth shut right now. She's still recovering and i'd rather not risk losing my temper again during that time." Su Ping massaged his forehead with one hand, before speaking with a sigh, this time though, his voice wasn't as cold as before.
Emilia simply nodded her head, she then got up on her feat, deciding to leave the room before she caused any more issues.
" It wasn't your fault."
But mid step, she heard a voice she thought couldn't possibly be true, which caused her step to falter mid way.
" P-Pardon." As if unable to believe what she heard, she turned to glance at him as if seeking confirmation.
Su Ping let out another sigh, this time sounding more helpless. " I said it wasn't your fault. Honestly... It's mine."
" She was right, what you did during breakfast wasn't enough to warrant that type of reaction, I failed to control myself properly... It's just." For the first time in forever, Emilia was stunned to see Su Ping displaying such a vulnerable side. Of course she knew not to show it on her face.
" This whole thing were she constantly tries to get me to get other partners, I'm afraid I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't understand why she keeps doing that, I mean I know she's worried I'd end up getting fed up with her if I didn't but that's not true." Su Ping said, and as if he'd already predicted something, he turned towards the direction of the stairs.
With a thought the barrier in that direction turned transparent to reveal the Wolf King who was standing there with a trembling gaze.
A pitiful smile emerged on Su Pings smile right then. " I apologise but no matter how much I try to force it, I can't seem to love anyone else but here."
In that moment, Yu An... No, the Wolf King's expression underwent several changes in the blink of an eye, before settling on a bitter look, her eyes were moistened as tears streamed down her cheeks while her lips couldn't stop trembling, and yet even then.
" Can you at least tell me why?" She asked, even against her better judgement.
Su Ping was silent before shifting his gaze towards Melinda who was sleeping soundly in his arms.
