Chapter 128 The Big Tiger Falls into the Trap
Chapter 128 The Big Tiger Falls into the Trap
He frowned as he looked at the two large white tigers in the trap. They must have been trapped for quite some time; both male beastmen looked listless and had sparse bloodstains on their bodies.
Lang Cang had an excellent memory; he recognized the two large white tigers at a glance as the male beastmen who had come out hunting with Hu Yang before.
"How did you get here?" Lang Cang asked, his brows furrowed, as he looked at the two tiger heads in the pit.
Didn't they leave? This shouldn't be Silver Tiger Clan territory, right?
The two large white tigers trapped in the trap were so happy to finally be discovered that they almost cried tears of joy.
God knows they've been here for three days, a full three days!
No water, no food, my stomach is about to burst from hunger!
When they were so hungry that they had no strength left, they had no choice but to transform into animal forms to conserve their energy.
When they looked up, they were surprised to see the same group of orcs they had fought before. The eyes of the two male orcs dimmed instantly, and a hint of guilt flashed across their eyes after hearing Lang Cang's question.
Wolf Cang quickly noticed their unusual behavior. Seeing that the two tigers did not react, he said calmly, "In that case, we'll be leaving now."
He made a move to leave with Xiong Fei and Xi Zhao, and in an instant, they disappeared from the trap entrance.
The two tigers in the cave immediately panicked when they saw this. They transformed into human form, and looked to be quite young, probably just coming of age. One of the tigers, a boy, shouted at the top of his lungs, "Don't go! Come back!"
There was no response from outside the trap. His companion, who appeared to be injured and pale, shook his head. "Feng, stop shouting. They won't be coming back."
"Besides, the two of us came here to teach them a lesson, so how can we expect them to help us now?"
He clearly still had some sense, but he was still quite young, and the disappointment in his eyes was impossible to hide.
The two of them had secretly run away from Hu Yang. These two newly-adult male beastmen were arrogant and thought that these suddenly appearing beastmen had invaded their territory and that they should be taught a lesson.
So Hu Feng and Hu Wei secretly followed Lang Cang and the others to this side.
Before they could even do anything, they fell into this trap.
The trap was as tall as the three of them. The two orcs tried everything to get out but couldn't, and they've been trapped ever since, until Wolf Cang discovered them.
Just then, a voice suddenly came from the entrance of the trap, "So they've come to take revenge on us."
The two boys looked up abruptly, and three more heads popped out of the cave entrance. It was none other than Lang Cang and his group who had just left. Xiong Fei looked at the two little brats who had just grown their fur and started to tease them.
"Let me hear your plans for revenge."
When Hu Wei was overheard talking to Hu Feng, his face turned as red and white as if a palette had been spilled. Finally, he mustered his courage and shouted at the top of his lungs, "You're eavesdropping!"
At this point, Xi Zhao bluntly added insult to injury, "You were the ones who had bad intentions first, how can you blame us?"
"If we weren't afraid you'd get eaten by wild animals here, we wouldn't bother with you at all!"
Fortunately, Huwei and Hufeng were lucky and didn't encounter any ferocious beasts like black bears or lions these past two days. Otherwise, these two orcs would have been reduced to ashes before they even found out!
At this moment, Lang Cang spoke up, "Alright, stop arguing with them."
Upon hearing their leader speak, Xiong Fei and Xi Zhao immediately shut their mouths. Xiong Fei even obediently zipped up his mouth and looked at Lang Cang ingratiatingly.
Lang Cang ignored his antics. Ever since Xiong Fei started hanging out with Hu Qiu, he had become increasingly unserious.
Huqiu, far away in the tribe, suddenly sneezed several times. He rubbed his nose, held the wild vegetables stir-fried with oyster sauce that Yangye had made for him, and smiled so broadly that his eyes disappeared.
Lang Cang turned his gaze back to the two orcs in the pit. "I'll get you out."
Huwei speaks without thinking, "You really have such good intentions?"
Lang Cang didn't seem to mind and casually asked, "So, are we really leaving?"
"Hey—no!" Hu Feng quickly stopped him, pulling Hu Wei beside him and whispering, "Wei, we have to get out of here quickly, or if the captain finds out, we'll get a beating."
When Hu Feng said that, Hu Wei was obviously reminded of his captain's ruthless iron fist, and he couldn't help but shiver.
Looking up at Lang Cang again, his eyes softened, and his tone was less harsh. "Please pull us up."
They were clearly aware of their situation, which put them at the mercy of others.
Wolf Cang didn't care much about their attitude. Although the two male orcs were verbally abusive and talked about taking revenge, they didn't actually do anything substantial.
Lang Cang was very good at judging people; from their eyes, he only saw two words: "big" and "big".
The left eye says "foolish," the right eye says "stupid."
Taken together, it's pure stupidity!
They must have just joined the hunting team. I wonder how exhausting it must be for their captain to lead such a bunch of simpletons.
One minute they've said they're going to take revenge, the next they're completely trusting them to save people, not even afraid they'll kill the tiger to silence them.
He nodded to Xiong Fei and Xi Zhao and pulled them up.
The boy named Huwei must have fallen right on the thorns. His wounds were sparse and had already scabbed over, except for the larger wound on his leg, which was haphazardly covered with a layer of grass and dirt.
Lang Cang had already done more than enough by rescuing them. "Go now, but don't let me find you again, or you won't be so easily let off next time."
Huwei looked on incredulously, "You're just letting us go like this?"
Lang Cang said indifferently, "Why don't we go this way? I need to prepare some more food for you and then politely send you back."
Hu Wei blushed at what he said and stammered, unable to speak.
He kept fidgeting with his fingers, looking rather awkward.
Lang Cang couldn't stand his attitude, so he simply asked, "Is there anything else?"
Tiger Might looked into the eyes of the male orc before him and, for some reason, felt utterly exposed. "We didn't intend to do anything excessive..."
Lang Cang nodded decisively, "I know."
He could tell that the two boys didn't have any bad intentions, otherwise he wouldn't have let them go.
Once Huwei spoke, what followed wasn't so difficult to say, "We just... we just wanted to give you some itching powder to teach you a lesson."
Huh? What is this itching powder he just mentioned?
Tiger's words piqued Wolf's interest.
