Chapter 381 Hunting
Chapter 381 Hunting
The morning mist enveloped the White Tiger Tribe like a thin veil. The sun had not yet risen, but Lin Liuyi had already been shaken awake.
"Liu Yi, wake up. Didn't you want to watch how we hunt?"
"Huh? You guys got up so early?" Lin Liuyi lay on the bed made of animal hide, rubbing his eyes and yawning repeatedly.
It's all her fault for overhearing Ming and the others say they'd discovered a herd of unicorns yesterday, and wanting to go see how they hunt.
"The place where the unicorn was found is a bit far from the tribe, so we need to go there soon. Otherwise, you can just stay at the tribe and have some fun."
Ming didn't understand; what was so interesting about a hunting scene?
"No, I have to go!" Lin Liuyi immediately sobered up when he heard that he was not allowed to go.
She had never seen how they hunted.
Lin Liuyi, worried that Ming and the others would have to wait too long, immediately started packing.
As dawn broke, the orcs gathered at the edge of the tribe.
"By the Beast God! Grant us the strength to bring back food! Let's go!"
Ming gave the order in a low voice and took the lead into the hazy morning light.
The orcs lined up in a row, like a silent snake slithering into the jungle.
Lin Liuyi walked in the middle of the group, imitating the orcs in front of him, taking each step lightly to avoid dry branches and fallen leaves.
The jungle awoke around them, birdsong filled the air, but the beastmen's movements made almost no sound.
Lin Liu instantly sensed that this was a powerful orc army.
As the sun rose, they arrived at a stream.
Ming raised his fist, and the team immediately stopped.
"Take a short break!"
The group immediately dispersed, and everyone began to eat breakfast and rest by the stream.
"How was Children's Day? Are you tired?" Ming asked with concern.
Tired? How could I not be tired?
These orcs were physically very strong; they looked tall, muscular, and heavy.
But their movements were swift and agile. Lin Liuyi had to exert all her strength and not let her guard down the whole way so as not to fall behind.
"Have them carry you for a while!" Ming clearly understood that Lin Liuyi was having a hard time walking.
"No, no, I can do it!" Lin Liuyi shook his head frantically.
She's such a grown woman, it's so embarrassing for her to have to be carried like this!
“But it’s still quite a distance from where the unicorns gather, aren’t you?” Ming asked, a little worried.
"I can do it! Don't forget I still have equipment!" Lin Liuyi suddenly remembered that she had upgraded a batch of equipment after returning from interstellar travel.
At this point, Lin Liuyi quickly changed into her flight boots, so she wouldn't have to walk anymore.
This wasn't the first time Ming had seen high-tech gadgets, and she liked them very much, but this particular thing was unusable for orcs.
After a short rest, the group set off again toward their destination.
Ming glanced at Lin Liuyi's flight boots and gave the order.
"Keep heading north along the stream at full speed!"
The team set off again, this time at an even faster pace.
Lin Liuyi then realized that Ming had made everyone slow down for the previous part of the journey just to take care of him.
Fortunately, once she put on her flight boots, she could keep up with the team's speed without much effort.
The stream gradually narrows and eventually disappears into the dense bushes.
After passing through the bushes, they entered a forest. They continued to tread through the grass and climb over the trees until the group finally stopped beside a thicket of bushes.
Lin Liuyi was finally able to catch her breath. It was really far. No wonder Ming and the others had to set off so early.
Ming signaled the team to stop, then pushed aside the bushes to check.
When she turned around, her eyes sparkled with excitement.
“A herd of unicorns,” she whispered, “there are at least fifty of them in the clearing ahead.”
This time she brought ten orc warriors, which means each of them would have to fight at least five orcs at once.
Lin Liuyi also took a look when he had a moment. Tsk, so the horned beast is a big bull with horns!
Ming began assigning tasks: four men would flank from the left, four men from the right, and Ming himself would approach from the front with two other orc warriors.
"Remember, launch the attack as quickly as possible to prevent these horned beasts from escaping."
The soldiers nodded, their arm muscles bulging, each one poised for action.
"Now!" she shouted, and rushed out first.
The orcs leaped out of the bushes from three directions, instantly transforming into their beast forms and letting out terrifying roars.
The horned beasts scattered in panic, but the beastmen were prepared and charged at the horned beasts they had their eyes on, and several horned beasts fell to the ground.
Ming aimed at the largest unicorn and rammed into it with all his might.
The unicorn was startled for a moment, then adjusted its posture, lowered its head, and prepared to face the enemy head-on.
With a loud thud, both the white tiger and the horned beast took a few steps back.
Ming didn't get angry when her first attack missed; she tensed her muscles and began a new attack.
The horned beast was also clever, using its large horn to attack Ming. However, this time Ming changed direction and grabbed at another horned beast with one claw.
The giant unicorn was somewhat confused; how did its opponent escape?
But in an instant, he also began to attack the other orcs.
It was clear that the orc warriors had undergone countless training sessions and were now working together in perfect harmony.
They moved through the unicorn arena, taking every opportunity to swat or bite at one of the unicorns.
In contrast, unicorns lack intelligence and simply rampage around.
Gradually, the great horned beast realized something was wrong; his clan was getting weaker and weaker.
He began to call out, trying to lead his people to escape.
"Keep attacking! Don't let them gather together and escape!"
After Ming finished speaking, the orcs launched an even fiercer attack, which even the horned beast couldn't dodge, and in the chaos, the orcs ripped open its abdomen.
Ming seized the opportunity, pounced, and bit off the other's throat.
With a "bang," the giant horned beast could only die with its eyes wide open in disbelief.
After the great horned beast died, the other horned beasts became even more restless.
Suddenly, an injured unicorn charged at Lin Liuyi.
Lin Liuyi was startled. In her panic, she activated her flight boots and quickly flew into the air.
The unicorn crashed into a nearby tree and lost consciousness.
Lin Liuyi breathed a sigh of relief; the anxiety that had been hanging over him finally subsided.
After a fierce battle, the horde of unicorns was completely defeated.
The orcs cheered; they had successfully captured most of the horned beasts.
Ming transformed back into human form and walked to Lin Liuyi's side. "Liuyi, were you scared?"
Lin Liuyi gave a thumbs up and exclaimed, "No, you guys are amazing! Your teamwork is perfect!"
Afterwards, the beastmen began to process their prey. They tied up the horned beasts, preparing to take them back to the tribe. Lin Liuyi contributed his personal space to help them store the horned beasts.
Along the way, the orcs lost the seriousness and urgency they had shown on the way there. They chatted and laughed, and the sunlight shone on them, as if draping them in a golden glow.
