Chapter 108 The Ship Arrives
Chapter 108 The Ship Arrives
This pregnancy was indeed different; she was already showing in the third month. Chu Xinyao's lower abdomen was slightly protruding, and she radiated a maternal glow.
Indeed, as Yu Zijing said, the unique senses of the fish-dragon race seemed to have taken effect. In just over three months, many small fish-dragons had gathered around the island. These little guys were still young and had not yet reached the age of transformation.
However, their arrival brought life to the island.
The baby snakes have already hatched successfully and are now curiously observing these enormous creatures.
These small ichthyosaurs and fish-like medaka have similar animal-like appearances, although they are much smaller, they are still 3 or 4 meters long.
Chu Xinyao looked at their unusually large eyes, which almost took up the entire size of their heads, and couldn't help but think of a type of ichthyosaur that lived in the middle and late Jurassic period, which was also famous for its distinctive large eyes.
Could it be that the Ichthyosaurs are descendants of the Big-eyed Ichthyosaur?
Looking closely at the little ichthyosaur in front of me, I noticed its large eyes, teardrop-shaped body, and crescent-shaped tail. It was strong and powerful, and by swinging its tail, it could swim freely in the ocean.
Fortunately, Yu Zijing's human form doesn't have such exaggerated eyes, otherwise she would look quite awkward.
"Yu'er, I'm getting ready to pack my things. My sister and the others are coming." Yu Zijing leaped out of the shimmering sea, water droplets dripping from his wet hair. He walked briskly and smiled as he approached Chu Xinyao.
Chu Xinyao turned her head at the sound, her gaze shifting from the sea to Yu Zijing, her eyes filled with tenderness:
Are they arriving yet?
"Yes, it will take at most an hour to drive over."
Chu Xinyao turned her gaze to the sea again, trying to find any sign of an approaching ship. However, the sea was as calm as a mirror, and apart from the occasional small fish leaping out of the water and seabirds flying in the distance, there was no indication of a ship.
She frowned slightly, a hint of doubt in her heart, but then she felt relieved. The Fish-Dragon Clan had their own ways of communicating, so she didn't need to worry about that at all.
They turned back into the cave, which had changed completely after they had lived there for three months.
It's not as simple as before; instead, there are many more things now.
Inside the cave, a huge seashell bed occupies a corner; it is not only a bed but also a testament to their love.
The surface of the shell bed is smooth and has a lustrous sheen. When night falls, the moonlight shines through the opening onto the shell bed, creating a faint fluorescent glow, like a dream.
Several small tables, also made of seashells, were placed beside the bed, on which were placed some daily necessities and decorations carefully selected by Chu Xinyao.
These were all things she liked very much. Chu Xinyao gently placed her hand on them and put them into her own space.
On the other side of the cave, there are various pots and pans made of seashells, and fishing nets and harpoons hanging on the mountain wall, all of which were made by Yu Zijing herself.
Next to the tools were some dried fish and algae, which were the food they had been eating for the past three months.
Not far from the cave, Yu Zijing was planting some vegetables. Fortunately, they already knew that someone would come to pick them up in about three months. The vegetables they planted were things like bok choy, white radish, and lettuce that could mature in a short time.
If it weren't for these vegetables, Chu Xinyao would have long been tired of the monotonous fish and algae.
Besides vegetables, there were several grain crops, wheat and corn, which had been harvested and properly stored in her space. Now, next to the vegetables were freshly ripened soybeans.
Yu Zijing used a sickle made from seashells and fish bones to cut soybean plants from the roots and then set them aside to dry.
Sunlight shone on the freshly cut soybean plants, but Yu Zijing knew that the soybeans wouldn't dry in such a short time.
He turned over the soybean plants and suggested:
"Yu'er, it shouldn't be dry in such a short time. Why don't you put it in first, and then we can take it out to dry when we get to land?"
"Okay." Chu Xinyao nodded and replied softly.
She walked over to the plants and took them all into her own space.
After packing everything they wanted to take, Chu Xinyao and Yu Zijing sat side by side on the shore, enjoying the gentle sea breeze. Chu Xinyao's gaze occasionally drifted to the sea, and she held Snake Sixteen in her hand, gently placing him into the child-rearing space.
The current parenting environment has changed, perhaps because of the birth of this child.
The villa was no longer empty. In one of the two rooms on the first floor, the baby snakes were entwined together and being cared for by the robot Snake Ink.
The two robots she obtained earlier no longer resembled her. It was probably decided based on the situation of her beast husbands. They were respectively the appearance of Crane Feather and Snake Ink, so that even if the snake babies had never seen their male father and father beasts, they would not feel unfamiliar.
The villa's garden is planted with ornamental trees and greenery, while outside the villa lies a lush green pasture.
The airflow in a nursery space may be faster than in the outside world, so the plants and pastures grow much faster there as well.
The five cows had already been released by the robot Chu Xinyao and were leisurely grazing on the pasture.
Among these cows, two female cows have reached the age of producing milk, and the robot Chu Xinyao milks them regularly every day to feed the baby snakes.
The remaining three calves are one male and two females, and they can reproduce normally once they grow up.
The three lambs and ten chicks had grown a bit and were running and foraging on the grass. The lambs were docile, sometimes lowering their heads to nibble on the grass, sometimes looking around. The chicks, on the other hand, were pecking happily on the grass, chirping occasionally, adding a lively touch to the space.
Unfortunately, there are no buildings to house these animals in the nursery area; they are all still free-range.
Chu Xinyao exited the childcare space and said to Yu Zijing beside her, "Caviar, you mentioned your family, they..."
Will they like her?
They're only together to go back to their hometown. Although they have deep feelings for each other now, their motives aren't pure after all!
Yu Zijing walked to Chu Xinyao's side and gently took her hand. He could feel her nervousness, looked at her encouragingly, and whispered:
"Don't worry, my family will like you. Besides, you are the hope of our clan."
His hand rested on Chu Xinyao's lower abdomen; the future of their Fish-Dragon Clan lay there.
Moreover, looking at her beautiful face, he realized that she was the object of his heart's desire.
Chu Xinyao returned a smile, her tension easing slightly.
Finally, a small black dot appeared on the sea surface. As time went by, the black dot gradually grew larger and became the outline of a ship.
