Chapter 197 Accompanying Room
Chapter 197 Accompanying Room
"Are you going to change or not? If not, I'm leaving!" Jiang Chengcheng turned her head, pouted, and asked with a hint of annoyance.
"Say it, don't be angry." Seeing Jiang Chengcheng's angry expression, Sirius knew that if he continued to tease her, she would probably really get angry, so he quickly coaxed her in a low voice.
"I won't stoop to your level." Jiang Chengcheng rolled her eyes at Sirius, but considering his hospital treatment, she let him off the hook. She turned her head and saw Sirius's naked upper body. The expected blushing and heart-pounding didn't happen. Instead, after seeing the scars all over his body, she fell into a long silence.
Those bullet wounds, and the surgical scars that were stitched up, some healed and some not, were displayed so shockingly before Jiang Chengcheng.
Those scars were like sharp blades, piercing Jiang Chengcheng's heart, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness.
Such a deep scar, it must have hurt so much back then...
a long time.
Looking at the surgical scars that had just been stitched up, the bone was clearly visible.
Jiang Chengcheng's eyes welled up with tears. Her fingers gently touched the terrifying and hideous scars as she spoke slowly, her voice dry and hoarse.
"Are you stupid? You call this nothing? Then what would be considered something serious?"
Tears, like pearls from a broken string, streamed down Jiang Chengcheng's face, then dripped into Sirius's heart, leaving him flustered and at a loss for what to do.
"Chengcheng, Chengcheng, don't cry, it really doesn't hurt! I'm used to it!" When Sirius saw Jiang Chengcheng like this, he didn't even care about his own wounds and hugged Jiang Chengcheng in his arms, coaxing her softly.
Since they met, he had never seen Jiang Chengcheng shed a tear. He was used to her strong side. Now that Jiang Chengcheng was suddenly acting out of character, Sirius didn't know how to comfort her. He could only keep saying that he was fine, but the more she said that, the more heartbroken and upset Jiang Chengcheng became.
After finally calming down, Jiang Chengcheng looked at the helpless Sirius and spoke.
"Okay, let me change your dressing first. We'll talk about the rest later. I'll be as gentle as possible. If it hurts, just let me know." Jiang Chengcheng picked up the medicine powder, glanced at Sirius's wound, and said.
"Okay." Sirius breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Jiang Chengcheng had stopped crying, and quickly replied.
During the dressing change, Jiang Chengcheng was afraid of hurting Sirius, so she moved very carefully and took longer than usual. After finally changing the bandage, Jiang Chengcheng gently helped Sirius onto the bed.
"You should get some sleep. I'll stay here with you. The more you rest, the faster you'll recover," Jiang Chengcheng said, sitting on the edge of the bed and tucking Xili in.
"You don't need to stay with me. You should rest for a while. You haven't had a proper rest since the plane landed. Your body will break down if you do this. Listen to me." Sirius said seriously when he heard that Jiang Chengcheng still wanted to stay with him.
"Then call me if you need anything later. I'll rest on the bed next to you for a while." Jiang Chengcheng didn't insist. After all, she was quite tired after a night on the plane. Seeing that the Sirius people were alright, she finally felt relieved.
Jiang Chengcheng lay down on the bed next to her and saw that Sirius had closed his eyes. She almost fell asleep as well. She slept very soundly and didn't wake up until after 2 p.m.
Jiang Chengcheng got up and rubbed her sore eyes, only to find that Sirius was already awake, staring at her intently.
"What? Is there something on my face?" Jiang Chengcheng met Sirius's gaze, touched her cheek, and asked curiously.
"No, I just wanted to see you." Sirius chuckled and gave a puzzling answer, leaving Jiang Chengcheng somewhat bewildered.
"Then, my dear CEO, have you seen enough?" Jiang Chengcheng could only joke helplessly when she heard this.
"No, my girlfriend is too beautiful, I'm dazzled by her, I can't get enough of her." Sirius didn't hold back at all when he heard Jiang Chengcheng's words, and instead teased her.
"You're so glib and never serious!" Jiang Chengcheng blushed at Sirius's words and couldn't help but scold him.
"Where are you staying tonight?" Sirius asked with a smile in his emerald green eyes, looking at Jiang Chengcheng's flushed cheeks before finally changing the subject.
"I don't know, I was in such a rush that I only managed to book the plane tickets. I'll see if there are any hotels nearby or if I can keep you company tonight," Jiang Chengcheng replied, stretching as she stood up.
“I have an apartment nearby, why don’t you stay there?” Sirius wasn’t comfortable letting Jiang Chengcheng find a place on her own, and besides, the hospital bed wasn’t comfortable to sleep in, so he offered his suggestion.
"An apartment? Is it far from here? Do you usually live there?" Jiang Chengcheng couldn't help but ask out of curiosity when she heard that Sirius had a house nearby.
“It’s not far, about a five or six-minute walk. I sometimes stay there. If you’re going later, I’ll have someone take you there.” Sirius said, sending the address to Jiang Chengcheng along with the location.
"Are you okay alone tonight? Or should I stay with you?" Jiang Chengcheng was still worried about Sirius being alone, and after thinking about it, she decided that sleeping in the bed next to hers would be fine.
“I’m older than you, I don’t need you to take care of me.” Sirius chuckled softly, but a warm feeling welled up inside him.
"It has nothing to do with size. Forget it, don't bother. I'll stay here for the next few days." Jiang Chengcheng was unhappy when she heard this, but considering the other person's family situation, she finally decided to stay at the hospital.
Sirius's father died early, his mother remarried, and he had no siblings. At this point, apart from Jiang Chengcheng and his bodyguard, there was probably no one else who could look after him all day.
“This bed isn’t as comfortable as the one at home. I have someone to take care of things, so you don’t need to worry,” Sirius said, glancing at the bed next to him. He no longer wanted Jiang Chengcheng to stay in the hospital and suffer.
"How is that the same? I'll just ask you one question: if I get sick and am hospitalized, would you be willing to leave me alone in the hospital?" Jiang Chengcheng didn't directly refuse, but instead returned the answer to the other party. If Sirius dared to say he would, then his role as her boyfriend would be over.
“…………You’re younger than me, it’s only right that I take care of you.” Sirius fell silent briefly upon hearing Jiang Chengcheng’s words, before replying in a very chauvinistic manner.
"You're older than me! Respecting the elderly and caring for the young is a traditional virtue of our China!" Jiang Chengcheng was displeased upon hearing this, and her words inevitably carried a hint of sarcasm. In her heart, she couldn't help but think, "Little brat! Trying to intimidate me with your age! I'll make sure you're speechless!"
In fact, Sirius was not only speechless, but his whole body seemed to be covered in labels!
