Chapter 414 Departure for Death Valley!
Chapter 414 Departure for Death Valley!
Seeing everyone's reaction, Zhong Yuemin knew he couldn't dissuade them. Indeed, a reward of $20,000 and a compensation of $100,000 were very attractive, even twenty or thirty years from now.
However, no matter how wealthy the Yang Qing family was, they couldn't be richer than him. His main business in Hong Kong was real estate, but his other ventures included construction, film and entertainment, shipping, and more. His net worth was already in the billions of dollars, making him a force to be reckoned with against the four major families of Hong Kong.
He doesn't care about this little bit of money!
"Have you thought it all through?" he asked again to confirm.
Everyone nodded emphatically.
"Alright," Zhong Yuemin said no more.
"Then I'll go and report back to the higher-ups. You all need to take the time to rest, get yourself into top condition, check all the equipment that needs checking, and make full preparations..."
He paused, his tone becoming somewhat low.
"I'm not saying anything discouraging or cursing you, but this mission... is different from the past. If there are any urgent matters at home that haven't been arranged, or anything you want to say to your family... now is the time to make a call home..."
He didn't say anything more. As a reborn person, he knew better than anyone the place they were about to enter, a place called "Lengler Canyon."
Decades later, there was an even more terrifying name – Death Valley!
Door of hell!
Throughout history, numerous bizarre phenomena have occurred there, including unexplained disappearances of people and livestock and mysterious injuries and deaths, which has earned it the infamous reputation of "Death Valley."
This time, they are deliberately venturing into the area that is rumored to be a forbidden zone for life.

For the next three days, the team remained stranded in that remote town.
Zhong Yuemin received news that they were waiting for another team to join them—an expedition team also sponsored by the wealthy woman surnamed Yang.
Zhang Haiyang had privately given Yang Qing a nickname – "Yang the Richest Man".
Three days later, the long-awaited scientific expedition team finally arrived. Looking at the various large and small, oddly shaped instruments and equipment they brought, which filled an entire truck, Zhong Yuemin couldn't help but be speechless.
He found Yang Qing, who was directing the unloading, and got straight to the point:
"I'm saying, Chief Yang..."
"No, don't call me Chief Yang, it sounds really awkward," Yang Qing interrupted him, smoothing her short hair that had been blown about by the wind, and said naturally.
Just call me Yang Qing.
"Okay, Yang Qing!"
Zhong Yuemin readily agreed and didn't stand on ceremony with her, pointing to the mountain of equipment...
“We’re going to rescue your father. Time is of the essence, and we’re going to a dangerous place where the odds are against us. I think traveling light and moving quickly is more appropriate.”
With all those bags and bottles, anyone who didn't know better would think we were on a group vacation to the Kunlun Mountains.
"Leap People!"
Yang Qing called out, perhaps because she had lived in the United States for a long time, she was quite uninhibited, and the way she addressed her carried a natural intimacy. She explained:
“I understand what you’re saying, but you may not know that my father… was obsessed with exploring unsolved mysteries and strange phenomena around the world. Besides Kunlun, he also visited many other famous dangerous and forbidden places in the world.”
Given his nature, if he could uncover some ultimate truth before his death, he would be willing to die for it.
Zhong Yuemin touched his nose, thinking to himself that rich people have strange ideas and love to make trouble. With this money, wouldn't it be better to stay at home comfortably with servants to wait on you?
"What, you think your father is no longer here?"
"I'm just preparing for the worst!"
His eyes dimmed for a moment as he spoke, but quickly hardened again: "So, I arranged for this research team to go with him, both for the search and rescue and to... to help him fulfill his unfinished wishes as much as possible. These devices might come in handy."
He didn't ask any more questions, only saying that money makes the world go round. With everyone present, the team set off. The expedition team, including their small group, formed a large contingent of thirty or forty people.
The Kunlun Mountain Death Valley (Nalenggele Canyon) is located in the Kunlun Mountains of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It stretches from Buluntai in Qinghai in the east to Shanshan in the west, with a total length of 105 kilometers, a width of about 33 kilometers, and a total area of about 3500 square kilometers. It is a vast and mysterious forbidden zone for life.
The team chose to enter from the relatively easy-to-access eastern end, towards Buluntai in Qinghai.
The western end of Death Valley requires entering from the more treacherous and complex Kumukuli Desert or the north side of Qimantag Mountain, a route considered a dead end.
It took them two days just to reach Buluntai region in Qinghai.
First, we took a boxcar train to Xining, then transferred to an old military truck and swayed for a whole day on the bumpy, dusty plateau highway before finally arriving at the eastern entrance of Death Valley.
The vehicles could go no further, and the expedition team had to unload their heavy and sophisticated detection equipment and transport it by camels hired locally.
The team also hired two local Tibetan guides who were familiar with the surrounding terrain at a high price.
With everything prepared, this unusual team, a mix of soldiers, scientists, and guides, finally stepped into the canyon region shrouded in legend and death, bathed in the thin morning sunlight and biting wind.
Ahead lies an unknown danger and a daunting rescue mission!
