Chapter 2404 - 2405: Mine Train
Chapter 2404 - 2405: Mine Train
Feng Yuan and his group didn’t linger on that speculation for too long; they came here originally for fun, and other things weren’t particularly important to them.
The entire Flames Mine Theme Park is divided into several large zones, starting from Central Avenue. Unlike conventional amusement parks, Flames Mine Theme Park does not have paths that allow you to tour the entire park in one go.
Using Mud Street as the central axis, Mud Street connects to several zones on both sides. These zones are independently isolated, and after touring a zone, you must return the way you came to visit another zone.
At the end of Mud Street is the massive Mining Area Management Center Theme Zone, while the remaining zones are directly connected to this management zone, with areas still not interconnected.
Feng Yuan and his group didn’t have a particular preference for any specific zone; almost every zone in Flames Mine Theme Park has rides similar to roller coasters, or more precisely, Feng Yuan and his group could see on the map that each zone had their preferred amusement facility.
This was intentionally designed by the park management. Each zone has a general theme, and under this theme, there is a mix of different types of amusement facilities; almost every zone is a miniature amusement park.
Feng Yuan could guess their purpose; doing it this way could prevent visitors from focusing too much on one zone, causing issues, but it also wasn’t entirely beneficial.
Because everything is spread out, if you want to try multiple attractions and aren’t solely targeting one specific amusement facility, you will inevitably walk through all the zones.
The entire Flames Mine Theme Park covers a wide area, and a full tour takes nearly as much time as what other visitors spend trying out various attractions.
However, this inconvenience doesn’t cause much dissatisfaction among the visitors since not many come just for a specific type of attraction.
In front of the flames mine roller coaster, many people were queueing. Feng Yuan immediately noticed that those people had Spirit Beasts with them, while Feng Yuan held onto Xiao Ji, who was in its Eggshell Chicken form, asking
"Should we queue here now, or check out something else?"
Feng Yuan didn’t expect that even after the theme park had dispersed amusement facilities, queues still formed in front of the rides, but thankfully the queues weren’t too long, just two to three rounds before their turn.
Of course, this is partially thanks to the park’s electronic bulletin board, which displays the total number of people in each zone, based on data collected through the automatic electronic counting system at each entrance.
Even though this includes staff, since staff numbers are automatically deducted from the total after registration, the data is relatively reliable.
It was because of that data that Feng Yuan and his group chose the nearest entrance since according to the bulletin, this zone wasn’t crowded.
In fact, the most crowded zones were the ones deep inside; Feng Yuan wondered if they arrived late or if others preferred starting from the inside zones.
"How does queueing sound; you don’t seem interested in other things."
Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan and spoke his thoughts. The flames mine roller coaster is located deep in this zone, connected by several descending mine tunnels to various amusement facilities and squares.
Feng Yuan immediately headed for the mine tunnel entrance where the roller coaster is located, clearly showing his interest in it, as for the queue, Qi Chen thought it was a minor issue.
Queueing is common at theme parks, especially since the line didn’t seem long.
"Hmm, you’re right, let’s—what’s happening over there?"
Seeing Qi Chen’s suggestion, Feng Yuan was about to say let’s join the queue when suddenly the queue moved rapidly, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
The ticket inspector at the entrance shouted loudly outside
"Anyone else wanting to play! There’s room for seven more!"
"Me! Me!"
Shouting, Feng Yuan quickly dashed towards the entrance, and the inspector glanced at the metal tag hanging from Feng Yuan’s wrist, letting him through instantly.
Though theoretically theme parks have fixed entrances and exits, in a world with Spirit Beasts, no one dared claim they could prevent visitors from using the beasts’ powers to slip by.
Even though theoretically, almost nobody did this; to prevent creating a trend that could lead to more severe issues, almost all theme parks adopted similar ticketing mechanisms.
Upon entry, visitors register their information and receive a wrist-hanging tag with the day’s key. Every amusement facility has verification devices to check if the entering individuals possess the tag.
Despite not entirely preventing crafty visitors from sneaking into theme parks, it minimizes potential subsequent problems.
Because of this, although the tags may be bothersome, few visitors complain.
Once Feng Yuan entered the park, he understood why the queue vanished so quickly. The flames mine roller coaster had three columns, each on a separate track instead of forming a forward-backward sequence on one track.
Rope bridges were lowered at the roller coaster’s front and rear to help visitors access the platforms for the different train cars.
Currently, there were two to three empty seats on each red, orange, and yellow car. Feng Yuan chose the red car, while Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan rode the yellow car.
Ordinarily, Veronia wouldn’t be able to accompany Feng Yuan on the roller coaster, especially since he was already holding Xiao Ji in its Eggshell Chicken form. But Veronia, being a Divine Beast, could use her Invisibility Technique, remaining unseen and unstoppable.
"Wonder if these three tracks differ from each other?"
Feng Yuan muttered, looking at the tunnel ahead dimly lit by torches.
The tunnel was expansive, which made the three tracks slowly spiral around each other as they descended.
Once the safety checks were complete, warning bells rang, and flames burst out at the tunnel entrance as the roller coaster slowly advanced.
Though the depths to which the tracks descended varied, they reached the curve and began climbing almost simultaneously; as the roller coaster ascended, the tracks divided, leading each train into different smaller mine tunnels.
Ah, so that’s it, each car takes a different track?
Silently pondering, Feng Yuan couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. If this were true, wouldn’t experiencing the full roller coaster require three rides?
This doesn’t seem right, does it?
With this in mind, Feng Yuan looked ahead, but since the roller coaster was inside the mountain, lit only by torchlight, he couldn’t clearly see the surroundings.
The time spent on the slope wasn’t long, though Feng Yuan sensed the altitude was considerable. Timewise, however, it was brief, probably due to methods speeding up the roller coaster’s ascent.
As the car reached the peak, flames suddenly flared, brightening the previously dim mine. Amidst rumbling, the roller coaster sped forward.
Feng Yuan, surprised by the sudden acceleration, felt a sense of weightlessness—not unlike a regular person riding a roller coaster.
Delving deep into its effects, Feng Yuan realized it was due to the power hidden within the flames—a power that varied with the Beastmaster’s strength.
Regular people felt nothing special, but for Beastmasters, the power gave them sensations typical for ordinary roller coaster riders, essentially enhancing their sensory perception.
Additionally, the power seemed to have further influence, though Feng Yuan couldn’t fully grasp it at the moment.
As the roller coaster crazily sped through the mines, Beastmasters savored the rare thrill, while Feng Yuan kept an eye on the track.
The three tracks occasionally intersected within the mines, but mostly, the trains’ arrival times remained fairly similar.
After racing for a while, the roller coaster reached a station; just as Feng Yuan expected the slowing train to stop, he noticed the track was changing.
No wonder the track seemed a bit short; it all makes sense now.
Seeing the track alteration, Feng Yuan knew what was happening; and as expected, the roller coaster continued forwards without stopping.
After twice passing through stations, the roller coaster finally returned to its original track and halted. Just as Feng Yuan was about to speak, he noticed Veronia, originally quietly resting on his shoulder, was nowhere to be seen.
