Chapter 50 Eastern Battlefield
Chapter 50 Eastern Battlefield
The deployment had just been completed when the roar of diesel engines came from the front.
Two BTR-80 armored vehicles entered the gravel square, one on the left and one on the right.
From the drone's view, behind the armored vehicle, about a dozen Ukrainian infantrymen were advancing in a skirmish line, taking turns providing cover for the massive armored vehicle.
"They're here! Ruslan, hold them off!" Yuri yelled into his tactical headset.
"Try this, you bastards!"
Ruslan roared, and the PKP general-purpose machine gun in his hand instantly spat out a half-meter-long tongue of fire!
"Da da da da da!"
A barrage of 7.62mm machine gun bullets poured out like a storm.
The terrifying firepower instantly swept down the few Ukrainian infantrymen at the forefront.
Bullets struck the frontal armor of the armored vehicle, sending up sparks and a sickening metallic clang.
Almost at the same moment Ruslan opened fire, the machine gunners on the two armored vehicles also spotted Ruslan's position and immediately rotated the 14.5mm heavy machine gun turrets to prepare for suppressive fire.
Then there is no more.
"puff!"
With the aid of a special silencer, the sniper rifle emitted a muffled thud.
The machine gunner on the left armored vehicle had just put his finger on the trigger when a tungsten bullet precisely pierced his bulletproof helmet, and his body hung helplessly upside down outside the vehicle.
Eject the shell. Push the missile.
The bolt-pulling motion was fluid and smooth, with subtle adjustments to the muzzle.
"puff!"
The second bullet was fired.
The machine gunner on the right armored vehicle hadn't even figured out what was happening on the left before he was thrown out of the turret.
[Kill 2 enemy machine gunners, reward 200 points!]
One soldier emerged from each of the two armored vehicles, one in front and one behind, attempting to take over the position of the machine gunner.
But in Lu Ye's eyes, their actions were no different from suicide.
With the support of [Precision Shooting LV2], Lu Ye's bullets never miss!
"puff!"
"puff!"
Two more muffled gunshots rang out in quick succession.
Two new machine gunners, who had just gripped the heavy machine gun handles, had their heads blown off one after the other.
[Kill 2 enemy machine gunners, reward 200 points!]
In less than ten seconds, Lu Ye eliminated all four machine gunners on the two armored vehicles!
The turret on top of the armored vehicle has become a death zone that no one dares to touch!
"Land! 200 meters directly ahead, behind the armored vehicle on the right, RPG!"
Eugene looked at the high-definition images transmitted back by the drone on the tactical tablet and issued a warning in the channel.
Lu Ye's reaction was incredibly fast.
The moment he heard the warning, his sniper rifle slammed down to the right, the crosshairs instantly locking onto the heat source who had just hoisted the RPG-7 rocket launcher onto his shoulder.
Without any hesitation, he pulled the trigger.
"puff!"
The sniper bullet pierced the RPG shooter's right shoulder in an instant.
The immense impact caused the shooter's body to lurch to the side, and the rocket launcher tube, which was originally aimed at the flatbed wagon, instantly deviated upwards by more than ten degrees.
[Kill 1 enemy soldiers, reward 100 points!]
"laugh!"
Although the marksman had been killed, he had pulled the trigger.
The rocket roared out, leaving a trail of flame.
"boom!"
The rocket flew over the field sniper position and landed on the outskirts of the Kalinovka camp.
"The position has been exposed. I am moving."
The RPG was aimed directly at Lu Ye's location; it must have been a series of high-frequency sniper shots that exposed the sniper position.
Lu Ye did not look at the flames from the explosion.
After firing that shot, he braced himself against the edge of the carriage with both hands, rolled backward, and jumped directly off the flatbed carriage.
After landing, Lu Ye did not pause at all. Using the shadows at the bottom of the carriage, he quickly ran to the right and back, and slipped into the second semi-open coal car in the second row.
This is the second sniping position he has chosen.
Lu Ye's pinpoint suppression and the brief chaos caused by the RPG that missed its target earlier allowed Ruslan to completely take over the front line!
"Hahaha! Come on! You bunch of scum!"
Ruslan's thick arms pressed down hard on the violently beating machine gun, and the yellow shell casings cascaded down at his feet like a waterfall.
Without machine gun cover, the two armored vehicles dared not advance any further in the face of such ferocious firepower.
The dozen or so infantrymen behind the armored vehicle were pinned down and dared not even lift their heads.
At the same moment when the main battlefield was at a stalemate.
"Boss! Make contact on the east side!" Roman's voice rang out in the communication channel.
"They sneaked in from a blind spot. There are... at least twenty of them!"
"Understood! Let them in." Artyom responded in a low voice over the communication channel, while quickly pressing himself against the seventh carriage, moving closer to Roman's position.
In the darkness on the east side, more than twenty dark figures were taking cover among the abandoned sleepers and weeds, sneaking in one after another along the gaps around the carriage.
Instead of charging rashly, they split into three fire teams, forming a relatively dispersed tactical formation.
"Forty meters away." Artyom pulled down his low-light night vision goggles.
"They are very cautious and are constantly checking for blind spots."
Roman knelt behind a pile of scrap steel plates, holding a remote detonator in his hand: "The advance scouts are almost thirty meters away. My chain of tripwires is at twenty meters, and the directional mines are at ten meters."
"I'll disrupt their rhythm." Artyom picked up his AK-105 short assault rifle, the muzzle protruding through the gap between the axle and the ground.
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"
The rifle equipped with a silencer emitted a deep, muffled sound.
Three 5.45mm bullets accurately struck the calves of the two enemy soldiers at the front.
"Ah!" Two enemy soldiers fell to the ground instantly, letting out painful cries.
This sudden low-angle shot caused the enemy's formation to come to an instant halt.
"Enemy attack! Right in front, under the vehicle!" an enemy soldier shouted.
Immediately afterwards, a hail of rifle bullets swept under Artyom, sparks flying across the metal and axle.
"Retreat!" Artyom didn't hesitate to fire, rolled to the side, braced himself with one hand, and retreated with Roman into the blind spot between the two carriages.
Seeing the defenders retreat, the enemy immediately escalated their firepower, with five or six infantrymen using cover to quickly advance and try to catch up with the two retreating soldiers.
"They've taken the bait." Roman watched as the infantrymen rushed across the thirty-meter boundary.
The foot of an enemy soldier at the forefront suddenly tightened as a tripwire hidden in the weeds was violently snapped.
"Click".
"Take cover!" The soldier only had time to let out a shout.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Three miniature C4 explosives placed on the outside of the carriage detonated simultaneously.
The six enemy soldiers at the front were not even left with intact corpses; they were torn into pieces.
Blood and severed limbs splattered everywhere amidst the flames of the explosion.
The dozen or so enemy soldiers behind were thrown to the ground by the massive explosion, blood gushing from their ears, and their formation was completely thrown into chaos.
"Cut the corner, sweep!" Artyom signaled a tactical hand signal.
The two men simultaneously leaned out from both sides of the connecting area between the carriages and precisely killed three enemy soldiers who were trying to get up.
After emptying half a magazine, the two men decisively retreated to the next carriage.
Enraged by the tragic state of their comrades, the remaining dozen or so enemy soldiers charged forward recklessly, their eyes red with fury.
"Die, you Russians!"
Grenades were thrown one after another at the bunker where Artyom and Roman had just been, and the violent explosions kicked up clouds of dirt.
"Ten meters." Roman retreated to the safety line, watched the group of irrational Ukrainian soldiers step into the ambush point, and pressed the detonator hard with his thumb.
Two MON-50 directional anti-personnel mines, positioned at a 45-degree angle and placed along the edge of the carriage, detonated instantly.
"Bang!" Nearly a thousand steel balls swept out in a fan shape.
The bulletproof vests of the seven or eight enemy soldiers at the front were instantly torn apart, exploding into bursts of blood mist in mid-air.
The four remaining enemy soldiers scrambled around, dropped their weapons, and fled in panic toward the eastern edge of the rubble square.
"The eastern flank has been cleared," Roman reported over the channel.
