Chapter 417 - 417: 417: How Lucky
Chapter 417 - 417: 417: How Lucky
The things he had written papers about were all things that other people could learn and use. As for the things that nobody else could use, there was no point writing papers about them and leaving everyone frustrated.Of course, he could also find ways to let other people use some of his exclusive techniques.
For example, he could create a fully automated built-in block-placing machine so that other people could place blocks like he could. Or he could install an experience farm inside it so that others could use the spellbooks of Newborn Arcana...
"I really am a genius."
Kasenhis casually tore the book in his hand to pieces, then used Creative Mode to relocate all the machinery from the far reaches of his office into the corners, leaving an enormous empty space in the middle.
It was worth mentioning that the people who had been strolling and dating inside those giant machines were also relocated.
Quite tragically, they too ended up in the corners of the office.
For example, Ron and Neville had just been rowing their boat toward the exit. They were on the verge of seeing freedom when they blinked and suddenly found themselves back beside the office's floor-to-ceiling windows, with at least half a marathon's worth of distance separating them from the door.
Of course, that was an exaggeration.
And it wasn't just Ron and Neville.
There were plenty of other unfortunate students.
Take Clay, for instance, a fourth-year Ravenclaw. He had finally managed to ask out a fifth-year Slytherin girl.
For a true champion who had successfully acquired an older girl, all he had to do was escort her back to the Great Hall for a meal, and today's date would have been perfect.
But who could have predicted that Professor Kasenhis would pull something like this halfway through?
"What the hell? Did Professor Kasenhis take the wr—... ow?"
His discreet grumbling abruptly stopped because he saw something that he felt, for the rest of his life, would never be surpassed in magnificence.
As Kasenhis floated in mid-air at the centre of the office and waved his hand grandly, all kinds of concrete blocks, redstone circuits, and pistons burst from the enormous empty space like grass fertilised with bone meal.
The sight left all the students who had been preparing to continue their journey home utterly dumbfounded.
They all slowed down simultaneously, afraid that if they walked even slightly faster, a block generated from the void might trap them halfway into the afterlife.
Kasenhis also seemed to finally remember that these students had been accidentally relocated. He quickly used red wool to mark out a boundary around his construction area.
As long as the students stayed outside the red circle, they would be fine.
Of course, Hogwarts had never lacked students with a spirit of adventure.
One of them, seeing his friends shaking their heads so hard they resembled electric fans, simply stepped across the red line himself, intending to observe Kasenhis' strange construction machines up close.
And very soon, a scene that shattered his worldview unfolded before his eyes.
He watched as a structure resembling a mob farm, packed with countless blocky Mr Steves, rose from the ground and began rotating in mid-air inside the office.
The second thing to emerge was a gigantic tree farm.
The third was a group of pistons relentlessly torturing a poor piece of TNT trapped between them.
And then, in a spectacle worthy of shaking heaven and earth, those pistons pushed that single block of TNT into becoming two blocks of TNT.
One of the TNT blocks continued to be tortured by the pistons, while the other dropped towards the tree farm. By sheer coincidence, it happened to pass through the lava pool of a cobblestone generator before continuing its descent.
With a loud explosion, countless logs burst out in all directions. Immediately afterwards, the leaves suspended in the air rapidly decayed into saplings, which fell to the ground.
Meanwhile, the skeleton mob farm beside it suddenly sprayed an enormous amount of bone meal at the tree farm. The saplings on the ground almost instantly grew back into trees, only to be blown into logs once again by the TNT falling from above.
And yet these few constructions, each of which individually could have been described as earth-shattering marvels, suddenly began to tremble.
Then, with a humming sound, they were violently compressed by the power of Creative Mode into a thin sheet no larger than a piece of parchment. After floating casually beside the Sky-Based Dragon-Slaying Cannon for a moment, the sheet finally landed in Kasenhis' hand.
"Bloody hell..."
The student who had stepped inside the red circle had personally witnessed those terrifying constructions, any one of which could have cost him half his life, turn into pieces of paper in Kasenhis' hand.
At that moment, he no longer dared to take another step forward.
He felt that if he remained inside the red circle for even one more second, then in the next second, he too might become a piece of paper in Kasenhis' hand.
But for some reason, he always felt as though he remained exactly nine seconds away from the red line.
And despite those nine seconds feeling so close, from his perspective, he had already been running for more than a minute.
Standing in the middle of the office, Kasenhis watched the student whom he had successfully pranked with his little spatial trick, a smile on his face.
In the end, he decided to let him off this time.
After all, while what he was doing wasn't particularly dangerous...
If he accidentally physically compressed a student into two dimensions, that would be quite troublesome.
After all, this wasn't a cartoon.
People who had been flattened into two dimensions couldn't simply be reinflated back into three dimensions with a bicycle pump.
After this act of benevolent mischief, Kasenhis looked at the pages in his hand.
"Wood, stone, bone meal, and TNT have all been prepared. Next comes... infinite water!"
The moment Kasenhis finished speaking, a tiny two-by-two water pool in the corner of the red circle flew into the air and was ultimately compressed by Creative Mode into another page in his hand.
The students who had previously been desperate to leave no longer had the slightest desire to do so.
At this moment, they had only one thought:
They were incredibly lucky.
Perhaps they had not been fortunate enough, like Marcus Poisson, to witness Kasenhis creating a world.
But today, at this very moment, they had been unimaginably fortunate.
They had personally witnessed Kasenhis turn the material world, something everyone took for granted, into nothing more than a few pages in a book.
If they absolutely had to name one misfortune, it was that their family and friends weren't here.
If possible, they genuinely wanted to broadcast everything Kasenhis was doing to the largest stadium in the world, live, without losing a single detail.
"Harry and Hermione not being here is their loss. The greatest loss of their lives!"
Neville, blushing, stared at the increasingly numerous magnificent constructions being transformed into pages in the hands of the tiny figure floating in mid-air, and muttered unconsciously.
"So... this is magic? Then what the hell are the spells we've been learning in class? Party tricks for entertaining Muggle children?"
On the other side, a wizard who had originally come for a walk with his girlfriend, only to be interrupted by Kasenhis' spatial relocation, immediately forgot all about his girlfriend upon seeing this scene and unconsciously began walking towards the red circle.
