Chapter 152: Blood Fall
Chapter 152: Blood Fall
"Disappear, Blood...Fall."
The moment Ruby spoke, the entire Night Market seemed to hold its breath.
They only saw the towering crimson serpent, the cold golden eyes, and the way Kennedy’s face had already drained of every last shred of confidence.
Even Raiden, who had seen Ruby furious before, felt Woolie stiffen in front of him as the air itself turned heavy and wrong. It was not a killing intent that pressed down on the battlefield. It was something older. The fundamental laws of the world themselves were pressing down on their souls.
Kennedy took one step back, then another, before bellowing at the top of his lungs.
"No!! I won’t give in so easily!! What are you waiting around for?!! Everyone move! Attack her before she—"
The four Terra Beasts around him answered at once, roaring as they released everything they had, their power surging upward in a desperate attempt to form a barrier against the descending blood. The Titan dug both feet into the ground as it roared.
The owl opened its wings, flapping them to create a typhoon. The shadow beast warped itself into a dense mass of black. Even the smaller beasts nearby pushed their strength into the wall, their bodies trembling as they tried to hold back the growing crimson pressure.
But it did not matter at all.
Ruby’s blood spread outward like a living sky, swallowing the night market from above and from every side at once. The first wave spread out like an unstoppable tide, covering more than a kilometre before the crowd even understood they were trapped inside the blood dome.
The second wave came faster, heavier, and more violent, and by the time the third descent began, the entire two-kilometre radius was already inside her domain.
People screamed. Beasts howled. Floors cracked. Pillars bent. The blood did not simply rush over them. It pressed through every gap, every weakness, every breath of resistance, as if it were the most destructive thing in the world.
A Diamond-tier beast roared and charged at her with all its strength, its body blazing with power as it tried to split the red tide apart. For a second, it almost looked like it succeeded.
Then the blood twisted around its limbs, dragged it sideways, and pinned it in place as if it were nothing more than an insect caught in silk. Ruby’s eyes remained calm. She did not even look at it once.
The beast tried to struggle once, twice, then collapsed beneath the pressure, its power stripped away before it could even reach her.
Kennedy stared in horror as his strongest beasts dropped one by one. The Titan fell first, then the owl. Even the shadow beast, which had looked ready to strike from behind, was crushed out of shape by the spreading blood and forced back into silence.
He tried again, screaming for them to resist, but his voice was swallowed by the sound of the crimson tide rolling over the battlefield like judgment.
Ruby rose higher, larger, her true form unfolding until the Night Market seemed tiny beneath her. For Raiden and Woolie, the blood stopped at the edge of where they stood, never touching them, never staining them, never threatening them for even a second. Everything else was fair game.
Then Ruby lowered her gaze to Kennedy.
"I told you," she said softly, her voice carrying through the ruined dark like a sentence already carried out. "You talk too much."
Kennedy’s face went pale as he watched his strongest Terra Beasts get overwhelmed one after another.
The confidence on his face was long gone by now, replaced by pure disbelief and fear. He had spent years raising these monsters, years feeding them precious resources and helping them grow stronger, and yet in front of Ruby, they looked no different from lambs waiting to be slaughtered.
The giant stone Titan let out a furious roar as his whole body started glowing with earthen light. He planted both of his legs firmly into the ground and pushed back against the sea of blood with everything he had. The ground beneath his feet cracked apart from the force, huge chunks of stone flying everywhere as he tried to resist the pressure. For a moment, it really looked like he might be able to hold on.
But it was only for a moment.
The blood kept moving forward.
Slowly and Relentlessly.
No matter how much power the Titan poured into his body, no matter how much he roared and resisted, the blood still crawled higher and higher around his legs, wrapping around him like chains made from death itself.
His resistance only lasted for a few seconds more before his huge knees started trembling. Then, under Kennedy’s horrified eyes, the giant Titan crashed down onto the ground with a thunderous boom, sending shockwaves in every direction.
"NO!! Get up! Get up right now!!"
Kennedy roared with bloodshot eyes, but the Titan did not rise again.
The silver fox, another Terran, wasn’t willing to accept that ending either. It let out an enraged bellow and charged forward with all its might, its claws shining with blinding silver light as it tried to split the crimson tide apart through brute force alone. Its speed was terrifying. The moment it burst forward, even Raiden felt a little shocked by the sheer power behind that charge. The sea of blood in front of it actually parted slightly as the fox forced its way in, making hope rise in Kennedy’s chest once again.
Then Ruby looked at it.
That was all.
The blood sea that had parted suddenly closed shut from both sides, swallowing the fox whole before throwing its giant body away as if it weighed nothing at all. The beast dug its hooves desperately into the ground, carving long trenches behind itself while bellowing in pain and fury, but it still couldn’t stop itself from being sent flying through the destroyed Night Market like a broken toy.
Above them, the gigantic owl spread its wings and screamed, releasing countless wind blades sharp enough to cut buildings apart. The entire battlefield was filled with violent storms for a few seconds as the owl attacked crazily from the air, trying to find some way to break through Ruby’s blood domain.
It didn’t work.
Huge crimson waves rose from below and swallowed every single wind blade before they could even reach her body. Then, countless blood threads shot up into the sky and wrapped around the owl’s wings, body, and neck before dragging it down violently. The giant beast crashed into the broken earth with a deafening sound, its struggle stopping almost instantly.
The Diamond-tier beast that had attacked Ruby before was still unwilling to accept defeat. It roared madly and burst into the air once again, gathering every last bit of its power as it launched itself at Ruby like a final desperate spear.
Compared to Ruby’s true form, however, it looked pitifully small.
A wave of blood rose up from beneath it and struck its body directly in mid-air.
Bang!!
Its whole charge was broken instantly.
The beast was sent crashing back into the ground at terrifying speed, smashing into the ruins so hard that the whole place shook once again. By the time the dust cleared, its body was lying in the middle of a crater, motionless.
Raiden stood there with Woolie and watched everything happen in front of him with widened eyes. The blood had completely covered everything in a 2-kilometre radius by now, destroying houses, walls, underground structures, and every living thing caught inside of it. Yet strangely, not even a single drop touched him or Woolie. It was as if Ruby had drawn an invisible line around them and told death itself not to cross it.
Everywhere else, however, was a disaster.
The Night Market was gone.
The buildings above it were collapsing.
The earth itself was breaking apart.
Tens of Thousands of People were gone.
The Entire Night Market was wiped clean.
The moonlight shone down through the broken ceiling, mixing with the endless sea of blood below and making the whole scene look like the end of the world.
Kennedy finally lost all strength in his legs and fell backwards onto the ground. His hands trembled violently as he stared at Ruby’s huge body in the sky, his face covered in terror.
"This... this is impossible..." he muttered in a broken voice.
Ruby slowly lowered her gigantic head and stared down at him with cold golden eyes.
"Let this be a lesson, don’t touchh my familyy againn." Ruby voice rang out in the air, spreading throughout the city as countless horrified eyes watched from the dark, silently.
