Chapter 312 The World of Detective Conan 38
Chapter 312 The World of Detective Conan 38
When Conan saw the young man in detective's uniform next to Inspector Megure, some blurry fragments suddenly flashed through his mind, but they quickly disappeared.
Uh... Could it be that he had seen this person somewhere before? He tried hard to recall where he had seen the young man before, but to no avail.
"What are you guys doing? Didn't we tell you where they were? Why aren't you going to rescue them?"
Edogawa Ranpo grumbled in dissatisfaction, saying he was going to find his friends to play with and didn't have time to waste here.
"Um... Mr. Edogawa, I have a small question I'd like to ask. How did you deduce that the person was in XXXX?"
Inspector Megure wasn't distrustful of the detective brought in by his superiors, but it was truly unbelievable that he could come to the scene, glance at it, and claim to have found the person.
Moreover, he wasn't the only one with this thought; just look at the expressions of his colleagues around him, and you'll know they all thought the same thing.
"Huh? Isn't that something you can tell at a glance?"
Edogawa Ranpo had no intention of answering Inspector Megure's questions; instead, he sent his trusted aide to deal with the police.
"Dun, you tell them what's going on."
"Huh? Mr. Ranpo, me...me?" Atsushi Nakajima asked incredulously.
"Hmm." Edogawa Ranpo nodded casually, as if to say, "I'm leaving everything to you."
Atsushi Nakajima was dumbfounded. Although he was also a member of the detective agency and usually helped clients find their cats and dogs, he was really not good at reasoning.
Their detective agency is officially called the Armed Detective Agency; it's armed in front of the name.
As for reasoning... he was really touched that Mr. Ranpo thought so highly of him, but he really couldn't do it.
Atsushi Nakajima felt utterly helpless at that moment, his face contorted with worry as he racked his brains trying to think of any clues in this otherwise unremarkable crime scene that could help him deduce what had happened.
"Tch... As expected of a foolish tiger, can't even handle such a small matter."
Ryunosuke Akutagawa, who had been standing silently to the side and was assigned to protect Edogawa Ran, finally spoke, but his first words were sarcastic.
Although after fighting side by side in various ways, his relationship with the tiger has improved a lot, and they are no longer like people who shout and fight as soon as they meet.
But he was still very unhappy with this guy. Why did this guy get Dazai-san's approval?!
Atsushi Nakajima: "?"
"Akutagawa, what are you saying? Come on, you bastard!"
Atsushi Nakajima glared defiantly at Ryunosuke Akutagawa, refusing to believe that Akutagawa could come up with anything useful.
"Heh, even if I don't understand reasoning, I know what I should do right now..."
Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Atsushi Nakajima started arguing as if no one else was around, while Ranpo Edogawa ignored them.
Inspector Megure watched in disbelief. Wasn't their most important task right now to solve the mystery of the kidnapping? Why were the people they'd brought in starting to fight amongst themselves?
He tried to intervene and mediate, but embarrassingly, his words had no effect whatsoever. The two of them couldn't hear anything else and were too busy arguing with themselves.
In this situation, the only option was to ask their superiors to persuade them, but when he turned around, he realized that Mr. Edogawa had disappeared sometime earlier.
When Akutagawa and Atsushi started arguing, Edogawa Ranpo casually walked away. He had seen this kind of scene many times before. Since the two of them were not going to fight, he simply ignored it.
As he wandered around aimlessly, he spotted a small figure, and his eyes lit up instantly.
Just as Conan was about to ask Officer Sato for information about the detective in Yokohama, a voice he heard sent chills down his spine.
"Hey, you're Shinichi Kudo?"
