Chapter 130 Su Wan's Secret
Chapter 130 Su Wan's Secret
Zhang Wanqing's gaze swept quickly across the street, each shadow a potential threat. She gripped her umbrella tightly, as if it were her only weapon. Lin Feng walked to her left, his gaze sharp, constantly alert to the surroundings.
"Do you really think Li Wei will betray us?" Zhang Wanqing's voice was almost inaudible in the rain, but she knew Lin Feng would hear it.
Lin Feng didn't answer immediately. His eyes searched the rain, as if searching for the answer that could resolve all his questions. "I don't know, Wanqing. But I do know one thing: we can't doubt our partners without evidence."
They arrived at Li Wei's apartment, an old apartment building with peeling paint on the exterior walls, revealing the bricks underneath. The hallway was dimly lit, and the air was filled with dampness and mildew. Zhang Wanqing pressed the doorbell and waited for a response.
The door slowly opened, revealing the puzzled face of a middle-aged woman. "Who are you looking for?" her voice was filled with a hint of caution.
Zhang Wanqing's heart sank as she realized they might have found the wrong place. "Sorry, we might have gone the wrong way." She smiled awkwardly and turned to leave with Lin Feng.
As they walked back, Zhang Wanqing's heart grew heavier. "What should we do, Lin Feng? Without Li Wei's help, how can we uncover the truth?"
Lin Feng was silent for a moment, then stopped and turned to Zhang Wanqing. "Wanqing, we need to find new clues. We can put Li Wei's matter aside for now and focus on Su Wan first."
Zhang Wanqing nodded, knowing that what Lin Feng said made sense. They decided to go to the cafe that Su Wan frequented, hoping to find some clues. The cafe was filled with the aroma of coffee and low jazz music. Zhang Wanqing and Lin Feng chose a seat by the window.
Zhang Wanqing's eyes swept across the cafe and she noticed a small door behind the bar. It was slightly ajar, revealing a corridor leading to the back. "Lin Feng, look over there," she whispered, pointing to the small door.
Lin Feng followed her gaze, a hint of alarm flashing in his eyes. "Let's go check it out," he whispered, and the two of them stood up and walked towards the bar.
They passed through a small door and came to a narrow corridor. At the end of the corridor was a door with a strange symbol on it, exactly the same as the symbol on the photo Lin Feng had given them. Zhang Wanqing's heart skipped a beat, she knew this might be the clue they were looking for.
Lin Feng gently pushed the door open and they found it was a small storage room filled with miscellaneous items. But in a corner of the room, there was a shabby box covered in dust, but the symbol was clearly visible.
Zhang Wanqing walked over and carefully opened the box. Inside were some documents, photos, and a small USB drive. She picked up the USB drive and felt a strange premonition. "Lin Feng, I think we found the clue Su Wan left behind."
At this moment, the door of the storage room was suddenly pushed open, and two men in black rushed in. Zhang Wanqing and Lin Feng turned around quickly, ready to deal with it. The men in black moved quickly and skillfully, and it was obvious that they were professionals.
Lin Feng quickly stood in front of Zhang Wanqing, his eyes revealing a hint of determination. "Wanqing, you go first, I'll hold them back." His voice was firm.
Zhang Wanqing's heart sank. She knew Lin Feng was protecting her, but she didn't want to leave him behind. "Lin Feng, let's go together." Her voice trembled.
Lin Feng shook his head. "There's no time, Wanqing. You have to take these things out. This is our only hope."
Zhang Wanqing gritted her teeth. She knew Lin Feng was right. She quickly put away the USB drive and the documents, turned around and rushed out of the storage room. She could hear the sound of fighting behind her, and her heart was broken, but she knew she couldn't turn back.
She rushed out of the cafe, the rain hitting her face, and she could feel her tears mixing with the rain. She quickly blended into the crowd, trying to get rid of her pursuer. She could feel the eyes of the man in black searching the crowd, but she had already disappeared into the crowd.
She found a public phone booth and called Fu Siyuan's cell phone. "Siyuan, are you okay?" Her voice trembled slightly.
Fu Siyuan's voice came from the other end of the phone, a hint of fatigue. "I'm fine, but I couldn't get rid of him. Wanqing, we have to be careful, they've got their eyes on us."
The rain curtained down, shrouding the entire world in a hazy haze. Zhang Wanqing stood in front of an old apartment building, raindrops dripping down her hair. Her heartbeat raced in her chest, each beat a reminder that the pursuit of the truth was never easy. Lin Feng had also escaped the men in black and reunited with her.
In the city after the rain, the air was filled with the smell of dirt and dampness, and the puddles on the streets reflected the vibrant colors of the neon lights. Zhang Wanqing, Fu Siyuan, and Lin Feng sat in a dimly lit room, spread out before them were the documents and photos left by Su Wan, along with a small USB drive. This USB drive might hold the key to uncovering the secrets of the criminal organization.
Zhang Wanqing's fingers gently stroked the surface of the USB drive. She took a deep breath and inserted it into her laptop. A prompt box popped up on the screen, requesting a password. She frowned and looked at Fu Siyuan and Lin Feng.
"Do you have any ideas? What might Su Wan use as a password?" Her voice was filled with a hint of anxiety.
Fu Siyuan pondered for a moment, then slowly said: "Try her father's birthday, or her own birthday."
Zhang Wanqing nodded and entered Su Wan's birthday, but it said it was wrong. She tried Su Wan's father's date, and finally a folder filled with photos and documents popped up on the screen.
As they quickly scanned the documents, a photo caught their attention. It showed a hidden warehouse with the same markings on the door as the ones they had found earlier. Zhang Wanqing's heart raced, knowing this could be the criminal group's headquarters.
"Where is this?" There was a hint of nervousness in Fu Siyuan's voice.
Lin Feng narrowed his eyes, his gaze lingering on the photo for a long time. "I've seen this place before. It's located in the western suburbs of the city, in an abandoned industrial area."
"We need more evidence. This warehouse may be our key," said Zhang Wanqing.
Just as they were about to act, the door was suddenly pushed open and Li Wei appeared at the door. His face was pale and his eyes were tired.
"Li Wei!" Zhang Wanqing stood up in surprise, a complex emotion welling up in her heart. "Why...why are you here?"
