Chapter 248 Life and Death 1 Line
Chapter 248 Life and Death 1 Line
Just as Zhang Wanqing, Fu Siyuan, Li Wei, and the SWAT team were evacuating the basement, a deafening roar erupted from the building. Immediately afterwards, the ground began to shake violently, as if an invisible force were tearing at the building's foundations. Dust and debris flew everywhere, and the entire warehouse area was instantly plunged into chaos.
"Run! The building is collapsing!" Zhang Wanqing shouted, her voice remarkably clear amid the clamor. The SWAT team reacted quickly, knowing that time was of the essence, and every second could mean the difference between life and death.
Fu Siyuan and Li Wei quickly caught up, checking back as they ran to ensure everyone was evacuated in time. The well-trained SWAT team quickly organized into small groups, covering each other as they rushed towards the warehouse area's exit.
"Keep formation and don't panic!" Fu Siyuan reminded the team members loudly. There was a hint of nervousness in his voice, but more of it was calmness and decisiveness.
The passages in the warehouse area were narrow and winding, cracks had begun to appear in the surrounding walls, and debris was constantly falling. The team members had to speed up while dodging the falling rocks. As Zhang Wanqing ran, she called for support on her walkie-talkie: "This is Zhang Wanqing. We have a building collapse in the warehouse area. Requesting emergency assistance!"
"Got it! We're on the way, just hold on!" The command center's response came over the intercom.
Just as they were about to reach the exit, the passage ahead was suddenly blocked by a huge concrete slab. The entire building structure had begun to collapse, and the exit was completely sealed.
"The road ahead is blocked!" Li Wei shouted, "We have to find another way out!"
Zhang Wanqing quickly glanced around and spotted a half-open iron door nearby. She immediately made a decision: "There's a door over there. Let's get out there!"
The SWAT team quickly adjusted their direction and rushed towards the iron gate. They pushed it open and found an abandoned loading and unloading area inside and an open space outside. This was their only chance.
"Quick, get out of here!" Zhang Wanqing shouted, and the team members quickly rushed to the loading and unloading area. However, just as they were about to rush out of the building, the structure of the entire warehouse area began to completely collapse. Amidst a huge roar, the upper floors of the building began to collapse.
"Be careful!" Fu Siyuan shouted, pushing Li Wei away, but was hit on the shoulder by a falling rock. He groaned in pain, but still insisted on standing up and continued running forward.
"Fu Siyuan, are you okay?" Zhang Wanqing turned around and saw Fu Siyuan's shoulder bleeding, and her heart tightened.
"I'm fine, run!" Fu Siyuan said gritting his teeth, his eyes firm and resolute.
Just as the building was about to collapse completely, Zhang Wanqing, Fu Siyuan, Li Wei, and the SWAT team finally rushed out and onto the open ground. As they gained their footing, the entire warehouse area collapsed behind them, sending dust and rubble flying everywhere, as if the entire world was collapsing.
The team members slumped on the ground, still in shock. Zhang Wanqing looked back at the collapsed building, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She knew that they had just escaped death, but the "ghost" conspiracy was far from over.
"Is everyone okay?" Zhang Wanqing stood up with difficulty and checked the condition of the team members.
"I'm fine." Fu Siyuan said, enduring the pain in his shoulder, "It's just a scratch."
"Let me see." Zhang Wanqing walked over to Fu Siyuan and carefully examined his wound. There was a deep wound on Fu Siyuan's shoulder, and blood had stained his clothes red.
"This injury is serious and needs to be treated quickly." Zhang Wanqing said, "We need to get you to the hospital as soon as possible."
"I'm fine, I can still hold on." Fu Siyuan shook his head, "Let's settle everyone down first."
"No, your injuries must be treated immediately." Zhang Wanqing said firmly, "We are out of danger now. We can't take any more risks."
Zhang Wanqing quickly took out the hemostatic gauze and bandage from the first aid kit and carefully treated Fu Siyuan's wound. Her movements were gentle, but a hint of worry was revealed in her eyes.
"You have to hold on, the ambulance will be here soon." Zhang Wanqing said, with a hint of comfort in her voice.
"I'm fine, you don't have to worry." Although Fu Siyuan said this, his face had turned a little pale.
"Everyone, stay safe and alert," Zhang Wanqing told the SWAT team. "The Ghost might have a trick up its sleeve."
The team members nodded, and they quickly organized themselves to form a defensive circle to protect Fu Siyuan and other injured team members.
As they waited for support, the sound of an ambulance siren blared in the distance. The support vehicle finally arrived at the scene, and medical personnel quickly got out and began to provide emergency treatment to Fu Siyuan and the other injured team members.
"Siyuan, hold on, the ambulance will be here soon." Zhang Wanqing said, her voice choked with sobs.
"I'm fine, don't worry." Fu Siyuan smiled slightly, although his smile was a little forced.
Fu Siyuan was rushed to the hospital, while Zhang Wanqing and Li Wei remained at the scene to assist the police investigation. The collapsed warehouse area has been cordoned off, and technical experts have begun to survey the site, trying to find more clues left by the "ghost."
"What other plans does 'Ghost' have?" Zhang Wanqing whispered, a hint of uneasiness in her voice.
"No matter what plans he has, we will not let him succeed," said Li Wei.
Zhang Wanqing, Fu Siyuan, and Li Wei knew they stood at the watershed between good and evil. Though they had just escaped death, they knew greater challenges lay ahead. And the Ghost's next plan lay hidden in the darkness, waiting for their discovery.
After Fu Siyuan was rushed to the hospital, Zhang Wanqing and Li Wei were left feeling anxious. They knew that while Fu Siyuan's injuries weren't fatal, any injury in such an extreme situation could have serious consequences. At that moment, they could only wait anxiously outside the hospital's emergency room.
The emergency room door was closed, its red indicator light flashing. Zhang Wanqing and Li Wei stood outside, occasionally offering each other comfort, but their inner anxiety wouldn't subside. Time seemed to stretch inordinately long, each second weighing heavily.
"How badly did the doctor say he was injured?" Li Wei couldn't help but ask.
"I don't know either. The doctors are still trying to save her inside." Zhang Wanqing's voice was trembling. She tried to stay calm. "We can only wait."
