Chapter 408 Melody Villa (Part 4)
Chapter 408 Melody Villa (Part 4)
After the postman left, Conan also put on the costume called "Ivan", and suddenly, a memory of Snowpiercer flooded into his mind.
"Ah, the Archduchess... Sophia... It is indeed the Murder on the Orient Express." Conan patted his head which was aching because he suddenly received a new memory.
"Conan, what is the ability of this costume of yours?" Shuichi Akai looked down at Conan.
Conan waved his hand, and a miniature statue of Sophia appeared in his hand, and then crystal snowflakes began to float in the room.
"It doesn't seem very practical. It can only be used for cooling in the summer." Conan scratched his head. "And it seems that other people in Oletus have similar abilities."
"I don't know what will happen at this so-called rally." Akai Shuichi stuffed the collected fashions into his backpack.
The day for the rally soon arrived. Since the invitation directly gave the location of Melody Villa, they had to drive there themselves this time.
Shuichi Akai did not put on the "Cheshire Cat" suit. For the sake of his own face, he decided to put it on when he got there. Melody Villa couldn't possibly not have a cloakroom.
On the other side, Toru Amuro also chose to drive to the scene, but he put on the "Phoenix" costume directly, and the mercenary was sitting in the back seat eating rice balls.
"Don't you need a rest for your mouth?" Amuro Toru complained as he looked at the mercenary who had not stopped eating since he got in the car.
The mercenary looked up through the rearview mirror at Amuro Toru who was driving and said, "If you want to eat, there should be food prepared at the villa by then."
Toru Amuro: I don’t want to eat!
Soon, the two groups met at the gate of Melody Villa. When Toru Amuro saw that Shuichi Akai opposite him was still wearing casual clothes, he suddenly felt a little ashamed.
"Mr. Amuro?" Conan got off the car and stared at Toru Amuro who was wearing a belly-baring outfit with wide eyes. Although he knew that this was probably someone's fashion in the Oletus Manor, he didn't expect that Toru Amuro's outfit was so revealing.
Shuichi Akai: I suddenly felt balanced inside.
"Okay, Shuichi Akai, why don't you just come over in your costume?" Amuro Toru felt a little embarrassed when he saw the two people opposite him looking at him. Fortunately, his skin color was dark, so no one noticed.
Conan chose to avoid Amuro Toru's questioning, and when he turned around, he saw the mercenary dressed in cooler clothes.
"Ah? You...you are Mr. Naib?"
"It's me." The mercenary was still chewing the last of his rice ball. After swallowing it, he looked at Akai Shuichi. "My costume should be quite useful."
Akai Shuichi showed a hint of embarrassment: "It is indeed a very unique fashion."
Toru Amuro looked between the mercenary and Shuichi Akai with a puzzled look. He was now eager to know what kind of outfit Shuichi Akai would wear.
Standing at the entrance of the villa to greet the guests were Lucky, dressed in a "maid outfit", and the new grocer.
"Neb, long time no see!" Lucky gave the mercenary a big hug upon seeing him. "Look at you, you've been working so hard outside and you've become so skinny!"
Amuro Toru: ??? Did you hear what people say? Does he ever miss a single meal? He even made Rum curse!
Conan recognized Lucky: "Xiao Xing, how come you are also..."
"Oh, it's Conan. I forgot to introduce myself again." Lucky straightened his clothes and cleared his throat. "Yes, I'm the manager in charge of managing and deploying all the lower-level personnel at Oletus Manor. My code name is 'Lucky'."
"Well, so the person that Duke White Crow mentioned who became a code officer purely by luck is you?" Conan recalled a series of events that had happened to Lucky Man. He was indeed worthy of the name "Lucky".
"Oh, if others hadn't strictly forbade me from entering the gambling industry, I might have become a millionaire." Lucky laughed, pinching the corner of her skirt.
"There's already Evelyn in the gambling industry. Can you, a person without any self-protection, really get away with going to an underground casino?" The mercenary complained to Lucky.
Lucky scratched his head. "Actually, I went there with Evelyn. We won so much that we were almost targeted. But luckily, I was smart and lost all my winnings in the end."
"what?"
"And in the end, Evelyn and I left early because we ran out of chips. As soon as we left, the police came to inspect the casino. Evelyn and I successfully dodged the search."
"what??"
"Afterwards, I even found a luxury watch at the back door of the casino that was left behind by some gambler, haha."
"what???"
Toru Amuro thought for a while. It seemed that he was indeed targeting the problem of information leakage in underground casinos at that time. He sent Yuya Kazami to seal off a number of underground casinos and arrested a number of gamblers, but there was no sign of Ms. Farrow among them.
He had hoped to use that raid to try and catch Ms. Farrow, but nothing came of it. So, was the raid something he had avoided purely by luck?
Conan was sweating profusely after hearing this. He remembered that Lucky Man had escaped the threat of a deadly poison purely by luck. He never thought that luck could be used in this way?
"Oops, I forgot to introduce you. This is our new supervisor, the Grocer, Ms. Valentina Yaga Vasilyeva." Lucky stood beside the Grocer. "Ms. Valentina will be responsible for the training of lower-level personnel."
Conan took a look at the grocer's appearance. She looked like an ordinary old woman, holding a scale in her hand, and there were candies and small toys in the package around her waist. The code name "grocer" seemed to be her occupation, but from the name alone, it could be seen that it was an Eastern European surname. Could she be Russian?
Just as Conan was still wondering what the grocer's abilities were, a burst of hearty laughter came from behind.
"Hahahaha, Captain Brunhill is here!"
Very good, he knew who was coming as soon as he heard it. Conan turned his head and saw the archer (the unsuitable Giruff) walking forward with a big laugh, followed by the Night's Watchman (Nevermore) who was covering his face.
The clothes of both men are heavily decorated with oil paint, especially the archer, whose outfit is obviously inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night.
"Don't shoot Mr. Antonio's head with arrows, understand?" the night watchman warned with a look of disappointment on his face.
"Oh, I know, I know." The archer flipped his red hair nonchalantly. "Mr. Antonio is following us well."
Conan looked behind the two of them, and sure enough, the violinist (Purgatory Sonata) with a look of aggrieved face had his hair full of archers' arrows. He was using his hands to clean the arrows in his hair bit by bit, while his hair was controlling the violin to play a sad melody.
To be honest, although the violinist's current fashion makes him look like a devil from hell, his aggrieved look makes him feel no longer oppressed.
"Pfft." The mercenary couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Sabeda, you just laughed, didn't you?" The violinist pulled out an arrow and waved his fist in embarrassment.
"I remember happy things."
