Chapter 512: Decisive Battle (Part 2)

Chapter 512: Decisive Battle (Part 2)

Gin watched in disbelief as the mercenary performed some outrageous acts right in front of him, then vanished. For a moment, he was at a loss. But when he came to his senses, he discovered that the fog that had previously blocked his path was slowly dissipating. But when it cleared, he was no longer in his original position.

"Where is this place?"

Gin looked around vigilantly. It seemed to be a snowy field with snowflakes floating in the sky. In the distance there was a tall tower emitting red light, and under the tower was a steel city.

Gin frowned, realizing he could only head towards the distant city. Along the way, he spotted many people frozen like ice sculptures. They seemed to be fleeing the city, but many had died along the way. The further he went, the more people fell, and some of these bodies seemed to have died recently, their bodies covered only by a layer of snow.

When Gin walked to the gate of the city, he found that the tall tower emitting red light had dimmed, as if the flame had been extinguished.

Gin narrowed his eyes slightly, and he seemed to see a figure falling from the top of the tower. The figure's chest seemed to be emitting the same red light as the top of the tower.

[Mercenary: Is the timeline moved too early? Isn't this the time when the Evil Eye host betrayed the adventure group?]

[Slideshow artist: Sorry, I was sleepy when adjusting the time and missed a zero. I'll fix it now.]

[Archer: Eh? Gin's still in there. If you speed up time like that, then he...]

[Photographer: After a careful inspection, he should be fine. He is not from this world, so the impact will be minimal.]

Although the faster flow of time could not make Gin age quickly, the rapid changes in the scenery before him really surprised him. The killer felt that today was the day he was most shocked.

He watched helplessly as the man on the top of the tower fell. A young man caught up with him and dug out a glowing red heart from the man's transparent chest. Then, as if he didn't see Gin, the young man brushed past him and walked out of the city.

Gin looked at the boy's face. Although he was wearing goggles and his face was still childish, he vaguely felt that the boy was somewhat similar to the mercenary.

After the young man left the Iron City, the entire city seemed to have been accelerated. The towers completely lost their light and gradually collapsed. Everything in the city was slowly covered by ice and snow. (Timeline: After the final battle with the Evil Eye host, the adventure group left the Steam City and went to establish an energy company elsewhere.)

Even Gin was shocked by the unreal scene before him. He thought that Oritis had teleported him to a city built on frozen land, but this was obviously not the real world. The scene changed like a video with the fast play button pressed, making him realize that this might not be the world he originally lived in.

But there was no point in thinking about it now. Before the tower's flames went out, he could still sense that the temperature inside the city was higher than outside. At least with his current clothing, he wouldn't feel cold. Now the tower had become a ruin along with the city. Only a few ice sculptures stood on the ruins, probably scavengers who had frozen to death.

How could he leave this place? Feeling the biting cold wind, Gin pulled his windbreaker tighter, staring blankly at the ruins. If he went to the core area, would there be supplies there? Looking at these scavengers frozen into icy lumps, Gin didn't think there was any way out in the city. But if he went to the periphery, he didn't know what was outside. Could there be a greater disaster lurking there?

It wasn't Gin's nature to stay still and hesitate. After thinking for a moment, he decided to head outward. Although the snow was still blowing hard outside the city, when he passed through the curtain of snow, he saw a huge pirate ship frozen on the shore. The pirate ship's skull and crossbones flag, though tattered, was still very conspicuous.

In the distance is the endless ocean, the nearby sea is frozen, and there are no other small boats on the shore. It can be said that this is an isolated frozen island with no possibility of escape.

"I never expected this outcome." Gin chuckled self-deprecatingly, entering the pirate ship through a hole beneath it and sitting on the floor of a cabin. "It seems it's not just the weather that's frozen over here. Those whispers trying to get into my head are the culprits leading those ice sculptures to their doom."

Gin thought back to his childhood spent training with the Black Organization, then working for the organization, gradually becoming a codenamed member and the boss's right-hand man... He also thought of Chianti, Cologne Vodka, Vermouth, his longtime companions, and his nemesis, Akai Shuichi...

"Oletus, I'm doomed." Gin wanted to light a cigarette for himself, but found that the lighter had been taken away by the mercenary. After a wry smile, he straightened his black windbreaker and slowly walked onto the deck.

The deck and the ice and snow covering it made a creaking sound under Gin's feet. Gin stopped and stared at the distant coastline with an expressionless face. He seemed to see a strange and huge figure tumbling in the sea.

"Is this the abyss..." Gin sighed at last, watching his body gradually covered with frost, and then his consciousness sank into endless darkness.

Binga was extremely nervous after being trapped in the fog, but a minute later, nothing happened. (At this time, the mercenary was trying to commit suicide, so he ignored him.)

Finally, the lame sheep, unable to bear it any longer, called the violinist, who usually did nothing, and said, "It's finally your turn, Mr. Antonio, to show off your skills. My energy is almost running out."

"Okay, okay, let's see who dares to say that I'm not doing my job this time." The violinist was very happy. He was going to play a round of perpetual motion and then run to the bar to party while everyone was busy cleaning up the battlefield.

[Toy Merchant: I feel like Mr. Antonio is up to no good. (Violinist blocked)]

[Opera Singer: He's got his old problem back. (Frowning)]

[Archer: Oh, he was playing Landlord with me and Lady Evelyn last night. He wouldn't go and get himself into trouble so soon.]

[Knight: He plays cards with Evelyn because he thinks his skills are not good enough?]

[Shadow of Time and Space: Mr. Bonatavi, please keep an eye on Antonio.]

[Lame Sheep: Yes, yes.]

In order not to affect the violinist's performance, the escape master removed the fog area. When the fog area disappeared, Binga was also teleported to another abyss.

"Now, everyone enjoy the music!" The violinist immediately began his ear-piercing attack of magical sounds.

Because Gin, the mercenary, and Binga all disappeared in less than five minutes, Vodka was downstairs looking for Amuro Toru, and Vermouth had already escaped. So now the members of the Black Organization were leaderless, all of them were overwhelmed by the violinist's demonic sound.

"Hurry, hurry, full speed ahead!" The prisoner in the endless vehicle saw the violinist trying to grab the head, and hurriedly stepped on the accelerator to speed up.

The sudden acceleration caused the vehicle to jolt, spilling the latte from the Hermit's hand all over his newly completed research notebook. Seeing the hermit's forehead beginning to show signs of a cross, the cheerleader, who had originally wanted to step on the accelerator with the prisoner, decided to follow her heart.
