Chapter 115 The Path of Defying Gods 7
Chapter 115 The Path of Defying Gods 7
When they began visiting local leaders, they were not met with understanding and support, but rather with all sorts of difficult situations.
Some leaders were as arrogant and conceited as lone wolves perched on mountaintops, scoffing at their arrival.
The leader glanced at them sideways and said dismissively, "Hmph, divine punishment? It's just a lie you made up. Don't waste my time."
Shen Ying hurriedly stepped forward, trying to explain: "Leader, this is no lie. We have evidence. Once divine punishment descends, everyone will be in dire straits!"
But the leader waved his hand impatiently, turned around and left, leaving them standing there sighing helplessly.
Other leaders, with a cunning glint in their eyes, offered harsh conditions: "If you can help me accomplish something, I might consider supporting you."
Alice asked eagerly, "What is it? We'll do everything we can to help."
The leader sneered and announced a task that was almost impossible to complete, involving complex territorial disputes and resource grabbing with neighboring states.
Shen Ying did not back down. She and Alice traveled around, explaining and negotiating with all relevant parties.
Saien silently stayed by her side. His calm demeanor seemed to possess an invisible power, enabling Shen Ying to regain her strength when she was exhausted.
Alice also took action, using her influence among the people to communicate with them and then put pressure on the leader through them.
She said to Shen Ying, "We can't let these stubborn guys ruin everyone's hopes."
However, their operation was not without its challenges.
In this process, the opposition forces are like venomous snakes lurking in the shadows, ready to deliver a fatal blow at any moment.
During a trip through a valley, danger suddenly struck.
The once tranquil valley was now filled with sharp whistling sounds as enemies surrounded them from all sides.
In an instant, a rain of arrows shot towards them like locusts, the dense arrowheads gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
Sion's eyes narrowed, and he quickly waved his hands, instantly enveloping the three of them in a transparent and tough light shield.
A halo of light emanated from the light shield, deflecting the incoming rain of arrows.
But the enemy seemed to be prepared, constantly adjusting their angle and intensity, and their attacks became increasingly fierce.
Sion frowned slightly and increased the magic output of the light shield to ensure that no arrow could break through the defense.
At this moment, Shen Ying and Alice stood close together, nervously watching their surroundings.
Shen Ying knew how powerful Sai En was, and she said to Alice, "Don't be afraid, with him here, we'll be fine."
But the enemy's attacks seemed endless; they used a special magic circle that continuously increased the power and density of the arrow rain.
Despite Sion's best efforts to maintain the light shield, even this high-intensity defense developed a very slight vulnerability.
An arrow, imbued with dark power, pierced through the light shield amidst the chaos.
The moment Saien noticed it, he quickly turned to the side to try and block the arrow for Shen Ying, but the arrow was too fast and still grazed Shen Ying's arm, leaving a wound from which blood seeped out.
A flicker of emotion crossed Sai's eyes. With a gentle wave of his sleeve, Shen Ying's wound stopped bleeding and the pain lessened considerably.
Alice looked at Shen Ying with concern, then at Sai En.
Saien remained calm, but his gaze became even more profound.
He cast a calming spell, easing the tension between Shen Ying and Alice.
“Let’s keep going.” Shen Ying’s voice was clear and firm.
Under Sai's protection, they averted crises time and time again.
Despite the numerous difficulties, they never gave up.
Every rejection, every attack, only strengthened their resolve.
After countless trips, persuasions, and battles, they finally succeeded in winning the support of most of the leaders.
A plan to save humanity is underway amidst these numerous difficulties, like a ship struggling through a storm, swaying but still steadfastly moving forward.
Shen Ying stood before the majestic gate of the palace, gazing at the enormous gate that symbolized power and majesty, her heart filled with both trepidation and hope.
“The king is the key. If we can get his support, our plan will be more than half successful.” Shen Ying clenched her fists and looked at the others with a determined gaze.
Saien stood silently behind Shen Ying, his expression calm, but his eyes were always on the surroundings, protecting Shen Ying.
Alice was still somewhat unsure: "But the king isn't so easy to meet, let alone persuade him."
They first tried to see the emperor through normal channels, explaining their purpose to the palace guards, but were repeatedly refused.
The guards looked at them indifferently, as if they were a few unreasonable people.
"It seems we need to think of another way." Shen Ying frowned and paced around the palace to observe.
They discovered a side gate to the palace where wagons delivering supplies were going in and out.
“We can blend in with the supply delivery team,” Alice’s eyes lit up.
So, taking advantage of the chaos as the wagons entered, they cleverly hid among the supplies, with Sain cooperating throughout.
However, they were discovered by patrolling soldiers shortly after they entered.
"Who are you? How dare you trespass into the royal palace!" the soldiers shouted, brandishing their weapons.
Shen Ying quickly stepped forward: "We have important matters to discuss with the King, matters concerning the life and death of the nation and its people." But the soldiers did not believe her and prepared to seize them.
Just then, Sain gently raised his hand, and an invisible force rendered the soldiers unable to move.
"Hurry, we must see the king as soon as possible." Shen Ying grabbed Alice and ran, her eyes full of urgency and determination.
They ran swiftly through the palace corridors and finally arrived outside the king's council chamber.
At this moment, the king was discussing matters with his ministers.
"Are we just going in like this?" Alice asked softly.
"Since things have come to this, we have no choice but to force our way in." Shen Ying took a deep breath and pushed open the door to the council hall.
Everyone looked at them in astonishment.
The king sat majestically on his throne, his face initially filled with anger, but when his gaze fell upon Shen Ying, he momentarily lost his composure.
A hint of amazement flashed in the eyes of the young and handsome king, and his anger subsided somewhat.
Shen Ying stepped forward and said loudly and respectfully, "Your Majesty, we have come to stop the divine punishment."
We have evidence that a massive catastrophe is imminent, and if no action is taken, the entire nation will cease to exist.
As she spoke, she took out the stone tablet and the information given to her by the wise man, and handed them to the minister beside her.
The ministers whispered among themselves after inspecting the place, but the king seemed unconcerned. A slight smile played on his lips as he teased, "You audacious girl, barging in like this, aren't you afraid I'll punish you?"
Alice quickly said, "Your Majesty, the situation is critical, and we have no other choice."
The public is filled with anxiety and panic; everyone needs your guidance and action.
The king then came to his senses and looked at the documents, but his gaze kept drifting towards Shen Ying.
Saien stood quietly to the side, like a mysterious guardian deity. He didn't say a word, but his calm aura made those around him feel an invisible pressure.
As the king pondered, he would occasionally glance at Saien, and he would also feel a sense of apprehension towards this silent man.
The entire council chamber was silent; everyone awaited the king's decision.
