Chapter 218 Refusing a Toast
Chapter 218 Refusing a Toast
Medical staff lifted Li Dai onto a stretcher.
Zheng Yuxiu and Li Yuan went to the hospital with Yin Fengzhu's men, leaving everyone present looking at each other in bewilderment, waiting for the police to take their statements.
Yin Fengzhu's eyes were unfathomable. She walked back to the main hall, sat down, and the rest of the people followed her back inside.
The people in the lobby had different expressions, and it was unclear what they were all thinking.
But one person's face turned ashen.
—Zhi Yu.
Bo Bing was not surprised that Zhi Yu had not left yet.
Zhi Yu clearly knew what had just happened, but no one knew why he hadn't gone out.
He Zhongtian received a signal from Yin Fengzhu and consciously asked the others to wait in the rest room to take their statements, leaving the space to Yin Fengzhu and Zhi Yu.
Of course, for some reason, neither Bo Bing nor Cao Xin were asked to leave by He Zhongtian.
"Boss Zhi, why don't you tell me?"
Yin Feng narrowed his eyes, and his words were very polite, but clearly full of intimidation.
"Mr. Zhi has nothing to say about this matter."
Zhi Yu sat on the other side, raising his eyebrows and laughing loudly. His voice echoed in the hall, "I didn't do anything about Li Laosan's matter, so what is the city lord doing?"
"Boss Zhi knows that Li Dai has sided with me, and now he's afraid that Li Dai will expose everything... Boss Zhi, now you're probably thinking of killing him to silence him, aren't you?"
Bo Bing nodded secretly.
Yin Fengzhu is right. Judging from the question, Zhi Yu does have a motive.
It's not the first or second time he's done something shoddy, so it's normal for Li Dai to know. But how much Li Dai knows, or how deep his knowledge is, is unreliable to Zhi Yu. If he were to reveal something, it would become a handle for Yin Fengzhu to use against him.
"Oh? What do you mean by that, City Lord?"
Zhi Yu poured himself a sip of tea, blew on it lightly, causing the tea leaves on the surface to disperse. He held the teacup with his thick fingers and took a big sip, making a loud noise. "Since I dare to do it, I'm certainly not afraid of Li Laosan's false accusations."
"False accusation?"
Yin Fengzhu repeated Zhi Yu's words. She sat there, staring at Zhi Yu, but remained unmoved, as if Zhi Yu's words were already expected by her.
"Yes, it's a false accusation."
Zhi Yu put down his tea, his eyes flashing with ruthlessness. "Lord Yin, it seems you're quite eager to get my company now?"
Bo Bing narrowed her eyes, fiddling with the teacup lid in her hand.
—Is this a clear statement to Lord Yin Feng?
"Boss Zhi, don't be so harsh with your words," a bald, middle-aged man walked in from outside. He adjusted his glasses, his slightly overweight body dressed in an old-fashioned blue-gray jacket over a white shirt, a standard image of integrity.
The guards following behind him were escorting two young men. One of them had dyed yellow hair and looked like a thug, while the other, a bald man, was staring at Yin Fengzhu with hostile eyes. The two were thrown onto the floor tiles with a dull thud, and then writhed in pain for a couple of seconds.
The blond-haired man had likely resisted arrest during the chase and was beaten bloody. Upon seeing Zhi Yu and Cao Xin, he crawled over and cried, "Boss Zhi, Team Leader Cao... save me... save me... we had no choice..."
Cao Xin's eyes flickered, but only for a moment.
"Do you know me?"
He Zhongtian smiled, his wrinkles deepening at the corners of his eyes, and the light reflected off his thin-rimmed glasses, making it impossible for Cao Xin to see his expression.
But he could feel a chill creeping down his spine.
"do not know."
The man answered without hesitation, as if he truly didn't know him.
Zhi Yu crossed his legs, not even glancing at the two people pleading for help on the ground. The man looked at He Zhongtian with a vicious gaze, "Vice Commander He, where did you find some Tom, Dick, or Harry to label me? Although I have a large and powerful family, I don't have jurisdiction over every scoundrel."
As soon as he said that, the blond guy on the ground got angry.
"Team Leader Cao, I am..."
Cao Xin frowned, pulled at the hem of his clothes, and was about to say something.
"You guys have some nerve, firing homemade guns," He Zhongtian remarked, looking down at the people on the ground from beside Yin Fengzhu. "A petty thug who never even went to school managed to make a homemade gun... You can't say there wasn't someone pulling strings behind the scenes..."
"So what? As long as we don't pin the blame on Zhi."
Zhi Yu's expression remained unchanged. "He claims to be my subordinate just because he opened his mouth—"
"Even the best plans can have flaws, Mr. Zhi."
Bo Bing emerged from the shadows, kicked the howling blond-haired man to the ground, and said coldly, "Now, with me, there are two mouths."
"What did you say?"
Before Zhi Yu could react, he saw the young man squat down and grab the blond-haired man from the ground with his right hand.
"Do you still recognize me, blondie?" Bo Bing's expression remained unchanged. "It's okay if you don't remember. I'll give you a hint—do you remember the time you caused trouble at the train station?"
"On August 17th, you beat up my brothers at the station in order to steal passengers by driving an unlicensed taxi."
The moment Huang Mao saw Bo Bing's face clearly, he looked as if he had seen a ghost.
Yin Fengzhu raised an eyebrow.
This was truly unexpected.
"Oh my, Boss Zhi, this guy is still a junior manager in your transportation group."
Bo Bing sneered, "Are you really going to pretend you don't know them? Or, Cao Xin, you don't know these two guys either? When they pulled out a knife at my brother, they had the audacity to tell me to come and reason with you."
"There were more than just one or two drivers watching the commotion, so what's the big deal?"
Bo Bing looked at Cao Xin, her tone playful.
—"Eyewitness".
Cao Xin clenched his fists tightly, his gaze unfriendly.
This guy.
"The Jiaoyun Group violated social discipline by illegally possessing firearms and ammunition; key members murdered a key witness with a gun; threatened ordinary citizens with knives; and engaged in group revelry in places of entertainment..."
Yin Fengzhu stroked his chin, as if asking Zhi Yu, "Are these titles enough to dissolve the group?"
Zhi Yu glanced at Cao Xin beside him, about to say something.
—It happened in the blink of an eye.
Another man, who had been lying face down on the ground, pulled a small knife from his belt, his pupils bloodshot, and stabbed directly at Yin Fengzhu, who was sitting.
"Boss Zhi, why are you wasting your breath talking to a bitch—just kill her!"
The gleaming spring knife shot straight at Yin Fengzhu.
Bo Bing, who was still holding onto the yellow fur collar, narrowed her eyes, let go, and turned around to cross the tea table to intercept the attack.
The sound of wind breaking.
Bo Bing paused, as someone intercepted the person before he could.
The middle-aged bald man, now overweight, suddenly changed his demeanor. An unbelievable, cunning, and vicious high-level rib kick struck the leaping man like a drawn sword, precisely hitting his chest and ribs just before the blade was about to pierce Yin Fengzhu.
He Zhongtian's right leg kick was faster, had a greater range, and was more precise than the man's single-arm thrust.
Bo Bing, who was crouching on the ground preparing to get up and intercept, saw this scene, her eyes widened, and she even blinked in a daze.
"Oh my," He Zhongtian casually touched the few remaining strands of hair on his head, lightly covering the shiny bald patch on his head.
The sound, however, was as heavy as a thousand pounds.
—"If you don't listen to a toast, you'll have to drink a penalty shot."
