Chapter 431: The Young Master’s Heart Is All on You
Chapter 431: The Young Master’s Heart Is All on You
After a pause, Julian Keaton spoke again, "The night before last, Caden might have said some harsh words to you or done something to upset you at Southwood. But it was all a facade. He received a danger signal from me and acted along with me to deceive L, so I could find Cece."
Hearing Julian Keaton’s words, Evelyn blinked, feeling even more turmoil within her heart.
"All the lights there were set up by Caden himself to give you a romantic surprise," Julian shrugged, "I’m sorry for ruining your reconciliation. Once we find Cece, I’ll figure out a way to make it up to you. Don’t miss out on him; you’re the only woman who moves his heart."
After he said this, Julian Keaton quickly strode away.
He didn’t want to interfere too much in other people’s relationships.
Now, he needed to find Cecilia Lynch and reclaim his own feelings!
Watching Julian Keaton’s retreating figure, Evelyn stood in place, her mind flashing back to the image of Caden putting on an apron to make cola chicken wings for her.
The corners of her lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile.
The way he was with her the night before last at Southwood—was he acting?
Nonsense!
He was so angry; how could he possibly have been acting?
It genuinely seemed like he was showing his true emotions!
Can Julian Keaton’s words be trusted?
As if she could read Evelyn’s thoughts, Aunt May added, "Young Madam, could this be a case of ’the onlooker sees more of the game’? Anyone can see that the young master’s mind is all on you. Even Kiki has noticed it!"
Evelyn blushed, lowered her eyes, and muttered softly, "Can that really justify the way he forced me?"
Aunt May patted Evelyn’s shoulder, without trying too hard to persuade her.
After all, some things need to be figured out by the people involved themselves.
Moreover, it’s Evelyn who was hurt, so expecting her to quickly forget what happened the day before is probably a bit too much.
Evelyn stayed in her bedroom, still thinking about matters between her and Caden.
L’s solemn warning to stay away from Caden left some lingering shadows in her heart.
But what if Caden is really that big brother?
Evelyn shook her head, why can’t she get a definite answer?
Feeling restless, Evelyn pondered for a while, ultimately deciding to go out for a walk.
However, since her private injury hadn’t healed, she naturally couldn’t go far.
Following a little path outside the villa, Evelyn initially intended to walk only for a short while, but consumed by her thoughts, she unknowingly walked much further.
She sighed heavily, feeling constrained staying at home.
She thought perhaps going out to stroll aimlessly, buying some snacks, might improve her mood.
Waving down a taxi and getting in, Evelyn was just about to say where she wanted to go when she sensed something wrong.
The taxi driver, wearing a hat, looked at Evelyn with an unfriendly demeanor.
"Mrs. Lockwood," the driver spoke first, "hello there!"
Realizing the driver’s ill intent, Evelyn immediately attempted to open the car door to get out.
But it was already too late.
A man with blonde hair suddenly emerged from under the seat, holding a knife, its sharp edge immediately pressed against Evelyn’s neck.
Evelyn’s cry for help got caught in her throat and was forced back down.
