Chapter 198: Crowd
Chapter 198: Crowd
Su Fuying hurriedly followed Xiao Yuheng's steps and asked anxiously, "Where are you going?"
At the same time, Xiao Yuheng stopped and turned around to look at her, asking calmly, "Where do you live now?"
They both spoke almost simultaneously, then paused in surprise. Xiao Yuheng turned to look at her again and repeated, "Where do you live now?"
Su Fuying thought for a moment, unsure how to accurately describe where she lived, so she simply replied, "It's the place you went to last night."
Xiao Yuheng pursed his lips slightly, his face darkening for a moment as he thought about what happened last night. He seemed to want to say something, but in the end, he turned around and continued walking forward.
"Where's the medicine? Give it to me quickly."
Su Fuying walked quickly to his side, extending a hand, her meaning clear.
Xiao Yuheng didn't speak, but his pace quickened considerably.
"Hurry up, give me the medicine!"
Su Fuying's expression turned grim, and she reached out and grabbed the man's wrist.
Xiao Yuheng frowned and tried to break free, but Su Fuying held his forearm tightly and placed her fingers on his pulse.
Under the moonlight, Su Fuying's long eyelashes drooped slightly, fluttering gently like butterfly wings.
For a moment, Xiao Yuheng forgot what he was going to do and stared blankly at the female lead's fair face.
“Md”
Su Fuying couldn't help but curse, and released the man, directly stroking his body.
Xiao Yuheng's body stiffened abruptly. He raised his hand and grabbed the small hand that was causing trouble in front of his chest. A mist filled the man's eyes as he looked down into hers.
"It's not so easy to take advantage of me."
Su Fuying directly kneed him, speechless, and said, "Are you sick? Give me your medicine, you can't take any more."
"Besides, that was originally mine, and it doesn't seem like it was going to be given to the prince."
Xiao Yuheng was startled by Su Fuying's sudden action, and Su Fuying took the opportunity to quickly snatch the pill from Xiao Yuheng's hand.
As she tucked the pills into her bosom, she kept a wary eye on Xiao Yuheng, afraid he would snatch them away again.
Xiao Yuheng came to his senses, a hint of helplessness flashing in his eyes.
Finally, Su Fuying looked at the half-empty bottle of pills in her hand, and thinking of the man's earlier description of the earth's energy, she gritted her teeth and said after a long while:
Do you know how much longer you have to live?
The man strode ahead, seemingly unconcerned about the matter.
"One month."
The woman's clear voice rang out in the quiet night, and Xiao Yuheng stopped abruptly.
Caught off guard, Su Fuying crashed into it, hissing.
Xiao Yuheng lowered his eyes to look at her, his dark eyes showing no emotion whatsoever. "I will find Han Yancao."
Hearing this, Su Fuying was surprised that he was not as indifferent as before. For some reason, the anger in Su Fuying's heart lessened a lot, but the words he said were somewhat dissatisfied: "I hope that Your Highness can live to see the New Year."
The man chuckled softly, unusually not with a cold expression.
Under the moonlight, two figures walked one after the other in the alley, their shadows stretched long.
Xiao Yuheng looked ahead, silently calculating the time in his mind.
A month... is too short. He can't give up so easily because there are still many things waiting for him to do and many people who need his protection.
Su Fuying followed behind, watching the man's back, a complex emotion welling up in her heart.
She didn't know why she suddenly cared so much about his life or death; perhaps it was because he had helped her so much.
The two walked in silence, each lost in their own thoughts.
The night air felt exceptionally fresh, and the moonlight cast patches of silvery light on the road.
The surroundings were quiet, with only the sound of their footsteps echoing in the air.
Suddenly, I felt a warmth on my shoulder. Looking down, I saw a dark jade-purple fox fur cloak with a purplish-brown pattern draped over my shoulders.
Su Fuying looked up at the man in surprise, only to find that he was wearing a crimson brocade robe with a white jade belt tightly fastened around his slender waist.
Under the moonlight, the man was tall and slender, with one hand behind his back, as if nothing had happened, and his steps did not falter at all.
Su Fuying's lips curled up slightly as she reached out and took the cloak that was dragging on the ground in her hand, the lingering scent of the man lingering around her nose.
"Hey, was that your yard just now?"
Su Fuying quickly caught up and asked curiously.
"No."
The man answered without the slightest hesitation, and even his tone became colder.
"Then how did you get out of there?"
Su Fuying continued to press for details, and judging from the man's expression, there must be some story behind it.
Xiao Yuheng frowned slightly, and after thinking for a while, he explained, "Just investigating some things."
Hearing this answer, Su Fuying didn't believe it, but since he didn't want to say more, she didn't press him further.
"Oh, that's how it is."
Su Fuying nodded, indicating her understanding.
Then she added, "I thought it was someone you planted here."
Upon hearing this, a barely perceptible ripple flashed across Xiao Yuheng's eyes.
He remained silent for a moment before slowly saying, "No, if you need people, just tell me."
After saying that, he stopped talking and quickened his pace to walk forward.
Su Fuying watched his departing figure, a strange curiosity welling up in her heart.
"There are no inns here, where can we rest?"
These words startled the man. His deep eyes looked over, seemingly filled with inquiry and doubt, and he asked softly, "Can't I stay at your place?"
"Huh?" Su Fuying was taken aback by his sudden question, and a look of surprise appeared on her face.
Xiao Yuheng raised an eyebrow and continued, "Hmm? What, am I not worthy to stay at your place?"
“No…” Su Fuying quickly waved her hand and explained, “There is no extra room for you to stay there.”
There were originally only three rooms: one for himself, another for Duofu, and the third for Gou Dan and his grandson.
The room Duofu stayed in before was too shabby, even she couldn't stand it, let alone let a prince stay there for a few days, so she simply ignored it.
Xiao Yuheng's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile. "It's alright, I don't mind. As long as there's a place to sleep, that's fine."
Su Fuying stared at him, unable to understand the meaning of his words for a moment.
“Just squeeze in,” Xiao Yuheng said casually.
"Why are you squeezing?"
Su Fuying thought she had misheard or misunderstood him, and asked uncertainly.
Just as Xiao Yuheng was about to answer, the door in front of him suddenly opened from the inside, and a small head peeked out from the crack in the door.
When he saw the person standing outside the door, Gou Dan's face lit up with surprise.
"Young master, you're back?" Gou Dan exclaimed excitedly, then pushed open the door and stood at the entrance, suddenly noticing another person beside him.
"Are you the same person from yesterday?"
When facing Xiao Yuheng, Gou Dan appeared somewhat nervous and afraid.
Su Fuying then realized they had reached the door. Considering the child was there, she decided not to argue with him. "Goudan, come in."
She glared at the man with some displeasure, then walked past him to pull Gou Dan.
