Chapter 190 The Bizarre Post-Apocalyptic World 7
Liao Zhuang walked over, holding a wine glass in one hand and a bottle of Erguotou (a type of Chinese liquor) in the other.
He poured some wine into a glass, squatted down, and handed it to Lin Xiaoqian, saying, "Here, Xiaoqian, have some wine to speed things up."
Lin Xiaoqian looked at him with an expression that said, "Don't be so outrageous."
Liao Zhuang handed the cup in his hand to her again: "Listen to your brother, you can't go wrong."
Lin Xiaoqian opened her mouth, then took the glass with a determined look and drank it all in one gulp.
The spicy liquor flowed down her throat, and she couldn't help but cough a few times, her face quickly flushing red.
However, the heat did dispel some of the fear that lingered in her mind, and her thoughts became clearer.
"Cough cough... This Erguotou is really strong." Lin Xiaoqian said, putting down his glass.
Liao Zhuang chuckled, "See? I told you so, didn't I? A dose of this at a crucial moment is guaranteed to work."
Jiang Shuang was still a little worried about Lin Xiaoqian: "Xiaoqian, if you feel uncomfortable, go back to your room and rest."
"It's okay. If I go back to my room alone, I might relive the scene and get scared again. I feel more at ease with you guys." Lin Xiaoqian took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
Seeing that everyone was alright, Mo Ying walked to the electric massage chair in the lounge, sat down, turned it on, and comfortably relaxed her whole body. She then said loudly, "In that case, let's re-examine the current clues."
"Row."
Lin Xiaoqian first grabbed a bottle of fruit-flavored liquor and held it in her hand, taking sips every now and then to speed up her brain.
The group moved closer together to facilitate conversation. Zhuang Damao even brought out a whiteboard. He first wrote the words "small town" and "steamed buns" on the whiteboard and said, "It's been very strange since we arrived that everyone in the town has been steaming buns all day long. The idea that the steam from steaming buns can repel zombies is even more outrageous."
Liao Zhuang interjected, "But judging from our personal experience just now, it seems to be true. There are indeed a lot of zombies lurking in places outside where there is no white fog, and there are indeed no zombies in the town shrouded in white fog. This shows that the steam produced by steaming buns is indeed effective."
Jiang Shuang nodded, then frowned and said, "However, there is indeed something inside the white mist. Xiao Qian's basket was taken by that unknown thing."
Lin Xiaoqian felt a chill run down her spine as she recalled the scene from earlier. Her pupils dilated, and she took a sip of wine.
Zhuang Damao wrote "White fog prevents zombies" next to "steamed buns" on the whiteboard, and then drew an arrow pointing to "unknown danger".
He continued, "I did hit something with the energy gun, but it didn't feel like something as light as a basket. It was at least heavier than a basket."
Lin Xiaoqian asked curiously, "Brother Zhuang, do you mean that you actually shot at that unknown thing instead of the basket?"
Zhuang Damao nodded vigorously, "Very likely. I've been in the army for so many years, and I used to sleep with a gun in my arms. I can distinguish the sound of something being hit. Whatever it is, it's definitely not something as light as a basket that's been shot. It must be something solid."
Mo Ying lay on the electric massage chair, frowning slightly, and rubbing his chin as he said, "But I still feel that some things are a bit strange."
Liao Zhuang also took a sip of wine and said, "This town is inherently strange."
Lin Xiaoqian suddenly had a flash of inspiration and said, "Right, during the day today, we tried to leave the town, but we walked for so long without getting out. Just now, we didn't seem to have gone very far, so how did we suddenly get out?"
Mo Ying nodded. "That's right! That's the strange thing."
Liao Zhuang scratched his head: "Could it be because we went in different directions during the day and at night?"
None of them were familiar with the town and did not know whether the two routes they took were in the same direction.
Lin Xiaoqian sighed, "Sigh, if I had known, I would have pasted an anchor point talisman that replicates the Ink Shadow. That way, we could have gone back to the original spot to take a look by tomorrow during the day."
Upon hearing this, Mo Ying raised her hand: "I've posted it."
Ok?
Everyone looked at him and said in unison, "When did you put this up? I didn't see it!"
Mo Ying shrugged and said, "I just randomly stuck a picture on a nearby rock while I was observing the monster's corpse."
Lin Xiaoqian and the others all gave him a thumbs up.
“However…” Mo Ying said, “You all know that location. It’s like we’ve disturbed a monster’s lair right now. I don’t know if they’ll disperse by tomorrow daytime.”
"Then let's go in a couple of days," Lin Xiaoqian said. "I think we need to clarify a few things we need to do next. First, we have to complete the system task of making three thousand steamed buns. Even if we can't sell them in town, we have to at least steam them all. If not, we can sell them outside. Anyway, we can get them out of town."
Everyone nodded in unison; this was the primary and most important task.
"Secondly, during the day, try to find out as much information as possible from the people in town. For example, who is the little boy in the yellow clothes that Sister Shuang saw today? Also, what should we do if we don't want to stay in town and want to leave?"
As Lin Xiaoqian spoke, Zhuang Damao clearly outlined the next steps on the whiteboard.
Liao Zhuang interjected, "Speaking of the people in this town, they're quite eerie. They all disappear at night. I really don't know if they're asleep in their houses or what."
Jiang Shuang nodded in agreement, "Keep an eye out during the day. See if you can find any useful clues."
After summarizing some points and refining the details, everyone went back to their rooms to rest.
To bolster his courage and calm his nerves, Lin Xiaoqian had drunk quite a bit of alcohol, and his head was already spinning. He went back to his room and fell asleep immediately, not having time to be afraid of or think about the zombies.
When I woke up, it was already past eight o'clock the next morning.
After she got up and washed up, she walked out of her room and happened to run into Jiang Shuang, who was coming out of the gym.
"Good morning, Xiao Qian. Brother Zhuang has already prepared breakfast, it's on the first floor. Go and eat, I'll go back to my room to take a shower and change my clothes before coming down."
Lin Xiaoqian nodded, and after going downstairs, she found that only Liao Zhuang was sitting at the table eating.
"Why are you alone? Where are Mo Ying and Brother Zhuang?"
Liao Zhuang swallowed the egg in his mouth and said, "The two of them went out. Mo Ying said that the people in town started steaming buns at eight o'clock in the morning, and after they finished eating, they went to look for clues."
